Platz might have said that, but he was just being humble - which I found he really is. Scott didn't even get 2nd place votes by all the judges. Mike won that one hands down

lol true i wasnt there i was just a baby then, but ive always had good talks with Mike he always told me id be a great pro when i won kingston as a 172lbs lol back in 03.
Ben was great when he won his glutes were even striated , that was a good show dont forget mboya looked nuts in LHW he was like made of granite. Im glad he got his card there too cause the mans put in his time and now hes an olympian. Bens made crazy improvments back thickness width even arms. Good to see him do well
Of course Mike was just being humble. That is the kind of guy he is. 2002 was not the first time that Mike beat Scott in the super heavyweight class. He beat Scott the year before in 2001 in the same super heavyweight class. Mike won in 2002, no doubt about it. That is the year they started giving out 2nd Pro cards and it went to Scott.
So, why did Platz stop after turning pro?
Hear a "tiger" was coming...lol
Lol..... Yes, I forgot for a second about "Team Water Buff" nippin away Phats.
10 days till eating
No, he probably wasn't a match looking the way he did when he won, but you can't compare what he looked like the year before. Unfair comparison. That's similar to saying ronnie is no match for Dorian since he only came like 9th the year before he won the olympia. Or maybe we can throw Reza in the mix as one of the top to win canadian, considering he too beat platz!
But still the '02 Platz beats the '03 Voyer by a fair margin. 2nd place I would give to Ben Pak. 3rd De Silva.
yes typo...I watched him...Same year Raby won, in MTL. one of the few nationals I saw live.
Also was there in halifax in '01, and watched my bro in vancouver, in '09. Seems like the pattern is every 4th year I am there! Can't wait till 2012 when I am on stage finally.
Keifak loutfi how u feeling? Inshallah all good see you soon
I'm feeling almost ready, it wasn't easy but i'm on the way to get ripped inchallah.
Best Overall Canadian champion. 1st place I give to Mike Platz. 2nd place Nelson Da Silva. This guy won the 2001 Ontario Overalls at his first try. That same year he won the 2001 Canadian Overalls at his first try. That was great. I know a lot of people thought Mike Platz should have won the overall that year. It was very close. 3rd place Scott Milne. He was big and massive. Never won the overall, but got a pro card. 4th place Nimrod King. He was before our time. I saw pictures of him winning both the Canadian Championships and the North Americans Overall in 1988. He was big, ripped and thick. He did did well as a Pro in the 90's.
Out of topic and for the sake of curiosity, for all the competitors coming down to Laval, are you guys all dropping your own money to go down there or you have some sponsorship?
For people in the west, that must be a really expensive experience.
It's exactly in the topic Dan1977. What is not in the topic is all the pages where people are talking about Canadians of past year or to have a coach or not having a coach ...
Like you are talking about Canadian "2011" yes you're exactly in the topic.
Personnaly my store and my appartement are very close to the show, same city, just a 2 streets and 2mn to drive from where i live.
Last year it was a lot of money to pay for my hotel and plane to saskatoon and no sponsor ...from my pocket.
I disagree. When a event like the Mr. Olympia approaches, commentators always talk about the history of the Mr. Olympia and who the past champions were. They talk about the best past olympians. The Canadian Championships is on October 9th. So it is a good idea to talk about past overall champions and past Pro card winners. If competitors doing the show want to talk about whether they use personal trainers or not to get ready for the show, that should be welcome. It is all part of the Canadian Championships.
Vaillant at 9 days from the show.

Those hyper's at the end of a workout were no joke!

Delt training about a week ago lets get it
They were impressive, although, I wonder the point of them? It seemed like a lot of work holding 3 plates, whereas he could have felt the burn just as hard with 3x25s if he held them at his chest like he did on the last set with no weight...Just the physics of it I noticed right off. I am not saying what he did wasn't hard, I just think it would be easier to guage what he was actually doing, (for future workout consistency) if he held it at his chest.
very good video Hassan, i like the style.
maybe a little too much music. tilapia seems to be the best friend of bodybuilders dieting.
i take it also a lot, 3 times a day everyday.
Big props to you guys who are making vids and putting work into them to make them entertaining. Respect for all the dedication involved with keeping it together at this point of the prep and doing something more for those of us watching.
thanks Loutfi, it was my friends first time doing this type of video hes really a music producer. For the next ones well have some funny stuff more talk less music. as for tilapia its just that and chicken now but i dont mind. I was gettting sick of chewing the rock hard dry ass steak ahha
Stunna, which gym in Ottawa you training at, very nice equipment?
Very cool vid, the back looks amazing!
sup dan, I mostly use hazeldene good life or Scotiabank place YMCA(got the old Merivale Y stuff and its damn empty). I work in Kanata so i train during work hours but every few times i like to go New body dimensions for a change. Thats the gym in the video. Ottawa is terrible for gyms man we have all these new massive facilities but the design and setup is not bodybuilder/powerlifted intended so the shit is depressing soon as you walk in.
I've been going to Gym Max in Gatineau. Only gym opened 24/5 which is great but so packed during peak hours you can't get anything done. Never been to the one he opened on Hunt Club though. Don't know if it's gossiping but seems he losing his shirt to keep it running.
I know what you mean about the bodybuilder/powerlifters type of gym, the main market is the regular joe who quits within 3 months, that's lucrative business.
Only gym in Gatineau opened 24/5 you mean right? Both GL (certain locations) and the new Athletic clubs are that way too if you didn't know. I've trained at both Gym Max's. Gatineau has that hard core atmosphere, Ottawa does not and the t-shirt only rule has actually cost him business. Even athletic club changed their policy about that 2 weeks ago. As for him losing his shirt, I'd bet dimes to dollars the rumor is true. His first indication it wasn't going to workout should have been watching Florida Fitness go bankrupt 3x in 10 years trying to stay open there. Did he think his approach would be any different? Especailly when he deterred all the hard core members right off the bat with the no tank or cut off rule and having one of the busier GL's within spitting distance ain't helping either.
