“Even if you cannot change all the people around you,
you can change the people you choose to be around.
Life is too short to waste your time on people
who don’t respect, appreciate, and value you.
Spend your life with people who make you smile,
laugh, and feel loved.”
“Respect for ourselves guides our morals;
respect for others guides our manners”

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY
“He that can have patience can have what he will.”
“success awaits those who steadfastly commit to any requisite sacrifice”
Delaying gratification is a process of
scheduling the pain and pleasure of life
in such a way as to enhance the pleasure
by meeting and experiencing the pain first
and getting it over with.
It is the only decent way to live.
YOUR CHOICE....
YOU CHOOSE.....

“Success is not final,
failure is not fatal:
it is the courage to continue that counts.”
“Success is stumbling from failure to failure
with no loss of enthusiasm.”
“Our greatest glory is not in never falling,
but in rising every time we fall.”
GET OFF TRACK?
PICK YOURSELF UP
DUST YOURSELF OFF
AND KEEP GOING....

“We are our choices.”
“Beliefs are choices.
First you choose your beliefs.
Then your beliefs affect your choices.”
“You Are the Master of Your Attitude.
You cannot control what happens to you,
but you can control the way you think about all the events.
You always have a choice.
You can choose to face them with a positive mental attitude.”

“I believe that everything happens for a reason.
People change so that you can learn to let go,
things go wrong
so that you appreciate them when they're right,
you believe lies
so you eventually learn to trust no one but yourself,
and sometimes good things fall apart
so better things can fall together.”

Discipline is the difference between
what you want now
and what you want most.
A disciplined mind leads to happiness,
and an undisciplined mind leads to suffering.
For every disciplined effort
there is a multiple reward.
Discipline is the bridge
between goals and accomplishment.

“Happiness is not something ready made.
It comes from your own actions.”
“Promise Yourself
To be so strong that nothing
can disturb your peace of mind.
To talk health, happiness, and prosperity
to every person you meet.
To make all your friends feel
that there is something in them
To look at the sunny side of everything
and make your optimism come true.
To think only the best, to work only for the best,
and to expect only the best.
To be just as enthusiastic about the success of others
as you are about your own.
To forget the mistakes of the past
and press on to the greater achievements of the future.
To wear a cheerful countenance at all times
and give every living creature you meet a smile.
To give so much time to the improvement of yourself
that you have no time to criticize others.
To be too large for worry, too noble for anger, too strong for fear,
and too happy to permit the presence of trouble.
To think well of yourself and to proclaim this fact to the world,
not in loud words but great deeds.
To live in faith that the whole world is on your side
so long as you are true to the best that is in you.”

and from this point forward your life is made of 100% future;
Caterpillars always look up despite having no wings...
and butterflies don't waste time crying over the legs they lost or dwelling on on the ground.”

it's being terrified but you jump anyway...”

Feb 23, 2017 PT OF THE DAY
the below by TOP PREP COACH: Shelby Starnes is totally appropriate for the YOU VS YOU theme for today...........
Some things I've learned coaching others:
1. There is tremendous variability in individual response. Some need to work twice as hard to get half the results. This is not fair, but it's reality.
2. Many know what to do, but fail to execute. Being accountable to a coach, and having an objective eye, helps them go from average to great.
3. It's very hard to predict talent. Wide shoulders and tiny waist might be lazy AF. Narrow shoulders and wider waist might be an all-star workhorse. Sometimes it takes months to tease out these details. I know who I'll place my bets on.
4. Many overestimate the importance of the perfect plan, and underestimate the importance of brutal consistency. I'll take the 80% plan for 10 years every time, over the 100% plan you anguish over, never figure out, and never start.
5. Striving for balance is admirable, but don't be surprised when your progress is eclipsed by those who don't give a shit about balance.
6. Progress is rarely linear. Just because you accomplished "x" the first month, doesn't mean you'll accomplish "12x" in a year. Try more like 4x.
7. Working smarter always beats working harder, but the person with the higher pain tolerance will almost always have the upper hand.
8. Percentage-wise, most of your time will be spent on a plateau (the body just isn't an ever-expanding, ever-strengthening machine). You will also probably not win most of your shows, unless you only pick easy ones. So attach your idea of success to something other than constantly being in the spotlight and constantly setting new PRs.
