DETERMINATION
Tho' much is taken, much abides; and though
We are not now that strength which in old days
Moved earth and heaven; that which we are, we are;
One equal temper of heroic hearts,
Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will
To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.
I CAN, I WILL....

“Champions do not become champions when they win the event,
but in the hours, weeks, months and years they spend preparing for it.
The victorious performance itself
is merely the demonstration of their championship character.”
“He who is best prepared can best serve his moment of inspiration.”
“Good luck is a residue of preparation.”

A total commitment is paramount
to reaching the ultimate in anything in life...
The price of success is hard work,
dedication to the job at hand,
and the determination that whether we win or lose,
we have applied the best of ourselves to the task at hand.
Confidence doesn’t come out of nowhere.
It’s a result of something…
hours and days and weeks and years
of constant work and dedication.

“The world as we have created it
is a process of our thinking.
It cannot be changed without changing our thinking.”
“Change will not come if we wait for some other person,
or if we wait for some other time.
We are the ones we've been waiting for.
We are the change that we seek.”

I am celebrating 20 years recovery from drug addiction today
I could not have done it without my mom never giving up on me,
to her I am forever grateful.
A big thank you to my Addictions Doctor Douglas Coleman
for steering me in the right direction and giving me straight.
I could not have done it without the help of NA (Narcotics Anonymous)
12 step program of unparalleled success,
that works if you work it, its simple & its free.
I could not have done it without some real and true friends,
my best friend Karyn Creighton McCallister who has been my friend since I was 8 yrs old
and has seen me through a lot of dark times.
Once I said to her over 20 yrs ago...
“If you are still my friend after all the things I’ve done and put you through,
YOU ARE TRULY MY FRIEND”
& to my dear friend Paul Hammill who I have known for 22 yrs...
he knew me in addiction,
he knew me in my recovery,
he is my ROCK...
and without his help many a time,
through some tough times in the last 20 yrs of recovery,
he helped pull me through....
to him for that I’m forever grateful....
I am thankful for friends who stand by me through the ups and downs of life.
My truest friends are those who know everything about me,
but love me just the same.
My I always be a loyal friend.
I will strive to be true in word & faithful in deed.
My friends are precious treasures with a priceless valve.
Thank you.
Sincerely grateful...

Only one who devotes himself to a cause
with his whole strength and soul
can be a true master.
For this reason mastery demands all of a person.

Monday Oct 24th, 2016 I had surgery on both lower legs...
Try 2 on tuesday was successful in managed a short walk around my room with a walker.
Good tricep workout was like a continuous bodyweight dip.
Lucky I got good upper body strength.
Recovery from both lower legs surgery "Bilateral Anterior Deep Compartment Relief" is the correct name for procedure.
Happy to be on ROAD TO RECOVERY and finally be able to TRAIN FOR A SHOW PAIN-FREE FOR ONCE ☺
recovery from surgery is being a bit harder on me than I expected.
Ended up 2 nights in hospital.
Needed a walker to walk for a few days.
Sunday was my 1st day out of house only for 3 hrs to go to posing and even though mostly sitting,
the blood going into lower legs due to sitting upright as opposed to either lying in bed or sitting in bed with legs straight,
caused a lot of swelling and pain and ended back in hospital monday morning.
Everything checked out fine I’m just going to have to take it easy.
Even sitting at computor is hard again due to pressure from blood going to lower legs.
I’m going to have to be patient which has never been one of my strong suits. Please bear with me.

“Too often you focus on the cons before you even consider a pro.
You can’t even think about the benefits of taking on your dream because
you’re too busy focusing on the “what if,” the “what could be,”
and the “why it won’t work for me” excuses.
You’re willing to waste years of your life walking away from your dreams instead of running toward your destiny.”
“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than
by the ones you did do.
So throw off the bowlines.
Sail away from the safe harbor.
Catch the trade winds in your sails.
Explore. Dream. Discover.”

Character
the willingness to accept responsibility for one's own life
is the source from which self-respect springs.
The measure of a man sir,
is not in money, position, station or possessions.
These things mean nothing.
The measure of a man is in his character,
wisdom, ability, aliveness,
intimacy, creativity, courage, fearlessness, perspective,
independence and maturity.
You cannot dream yourself into a character;
you must hammer and forge yourself one.
