Be more concerned with your character than your reputation,
because your character is what you really are,
while your reputation is merely what others think you are.
Character cannot be developed in ease and quiet.
Only through experience of
trial and suffering can the soul be strengthened,
vision cleared, ambition inspired,
and success achieved.

It takes a little courage,
and a little self-control.
And some grim determination,
If you want to reach the goal.
It takes a deal of striving,
and a firm and stern-set chin.
No matter what the battle,
If you really want to win.
There's no easy path to glory,
There's no road to fame.
Life, however we may view it,
Is no simple parlor game;
But it's prizes call for fighting,
For endurance and for grit;
For a rugged disposition
and don't know when to quit.

Change is inevitable,
growth is intentional.
Change isn't optional,
and creation isn't something that happened a long time ago and then ended.
It's ongoing,
and we are invited to be a part of it.
The question for us is 'what will we create in this new day?'
How will we make it count?
How will we nourish the things that matter,
and stand in the way of injustice in the small ways that add up to the arc of history?
You are invited to participate in the creation of this day...

Attitude is a little thing that makes a big difference.
Any fact facing us is not as important as our attitude toward it,
for that determines our success or failure.
The way you think about a fact
may defeat you before you ever do anything about it.
You are overcome by the fact because you think you are.
Could we change our attitude,
we should not only see life differently,
but life itself would be different.

Strength does not come from winning.
Your struggles develop your strengths.
When you go through hardships
and decide not to surrender,
that is strength.
Difficulty, my brethren,
is the nurse of greatness
a harsh nurse,
who roughly rocks her foster children
into strength and athletic proportion.

Every man who accomplishes things
sees first in his mind what he wishes to do.
He puts away all doubt.
It makes no difference how small
or how large the thing you want to do may be;
if you have an unlimited confidence in your ability to do it,
you will do it.

See the things that you want as already yours.
Know that they will come to you at need.
Then let them come.
Don’t fret and worry about them.
Don’t think about your lack of them.
Think of them as yours,
as belonging to you,
as already in your possession.
You create your own universe as you go along.

What we think about
and THANK about is what we bring about.
“We all possess more power and greater possibilities than we realize,
and visualizing is one of the greatest of these powers.”
“What we are today comes from our thoughts of yesterday,
and our present thoughts build our life of tomorrow:
Our life is the creation of our mind.”
THINK IT, SEE IT, JUST DO IT, BE IT...”

Ambition is the path to success.
Persistence is the vehicle you arrive in.
All the performances of human art,
at which we look with praise or wonder,
are instances of the resistless force of perseverance;
it is by this that the quarry becomes a pyramid,
and that distant countries are united with canals.
If a man was to compare the single stroke of the pickaxe,
or of one impression of the spade,
with the general design and the last result,
he would be overwhelmed by the sense of their disproportion;
yet those petty operations, incessantly continued,
in time surmount the greatest difficulties,
and mountains are leveled
and oceans bounded by the slender force of human beings.

Every choice carries a consequence.
For better or worse,
each choice is the unavoidable consequence of its predecessor.
There are not exceptions.
If you can accept that a bad choice carries the seed of its own punishment,
why not accept the fact that a good choice yields desirable fruit?
Good thoughts bear good fruit,
bad thoughts bear bad fruit.
Master your choices,
or become the slave of their consequences.
