I don't have too much against milk, since I'll have some every few weeks and it causes no issues for me. I'll also have ice cream and again, no issues. It surprises me how many people avoid milk like the plague yet don't have any problem going out for fast food, etc. Just like the IIFYM thread from a few days back - I can't see too much harm if you enjoy some milk every now and then. Every now and then a food which people used to think is healthy gets a bad rap and becomes the topic of avoidance. Another good example is fruit, yogurt, cheese, nut butter... Some bodybuilders will avoid all of the above fearing it will make them fat, or 'hold water'. Same with whey protein - bodybuilders start to avoid protein shakes, bars, and so on towards the end of a prep. Somehow the trend of more suffering = better results really took off it seems! While partly true, if you suffer you will likely get shredded, there are always better ways if you ask me.
I do trust the opinions that milk isn't the best food to eat. But it certainly isn't the worst!
