To keep the body in good health is a duty...
otherwise we shall not be able to keep our mind strong and clear.
“Every accomplishment starts with the decision to try.”

if you're going to go to bed with satisfaction.”

Why live to please others?
I mean, it’s your life.
If you aren’t happy with it, what’s the use in living?
TO THINE OWN SELF BE TRUE
It takes courage to grow up and become who you really are.
Enjoy who you are. Don’t hate yourself for what you aren’t
thatz like today i had 2 ladies who are gettin ready for the Kelowna show
which is 11 wks and 6 days away
be concerned about this stretch marks
i said to them " BE THE BEST YOU YOU CAN BE
& DON'T WORRY ABOUT YOUR STRETCH MARKS,
NONE OF US ARE PERFECT,
AND DON'T WORRY ABOUT THINGS YOU CANNOT CONTROL,
just go out there and be the best you can be !"

“Define yourself and live with it!”
my fav poem: The Man In The Glass
When you get what you want in your struggle for self
And the world makes you king for a day
Just go to the mirror and look at yourself
And see what that man has to say.
For it isn’t your father, or mother, or wife
Whose judgment upon you must pass
The fellow whose verdict counts most in your life
Is the one staring back from the glass.
He’s the fellow to please – never mind all the rest
For he’s with you, clear to the end
And you’ve passed your most difficult, dangerous test
If the man in the glass is your friend.
You may fool the whole world down the pathway of years
And get pats on the back as you pass
But your final reward will be heartache and tears
If you’ve cheated the man in the glass.

BRING WHATEVER LOOK YOU WANNA BRING TO THE STAGE,
BE THE PERSON YOU WANNA BE,
HAVE THE PHYSIQUE YOU WANT,
cuz many an athlete has tried to change to what they thought the judges wanted only to be still disappointed...
but if you are happy with the package you have brought
then YOU HAVE ALREADY WON !
also it's about living the life you want to live...
if i quit bodybuilding which is what my parents want me to do,
instead of living my life the way i want to,
because bodybuilding and it's lifestyle is what makes ME HAPPY...
then to me whatz the point in living,....
BECAUSE WE MUST TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR OUR OWN HAPPINESS OUR OWN LIFE...
AND IF YOU ARE LIVING IT FOR SOMEONE ELSE YOU ARE DOING YOURSELF THE GREATEST DISSERVICE !

"If you stand up and be counted,
from time to time you may get yourself knocked down.
But remember this:
A man flattened by an opponent can get up again.
A man flattened by conformity stays down for good."
"Keep away from people who belittle your ambitions.
Small people always do that,
but the really great make you feel that you, too,
can become great."

here's an interesting comparison that one of my girls found this morning
on Josée Poirier * Fitness Figure facebook page
i actually trained Erin Harding (she is 2nd from the right in the pic attached)
to that Med Tall Figure win at 2010 Canadian Nationals...
and also her 2 other Overall wins earlier that year...
she was completely natural
and i actually toned her down cuz i didn't want her too big
as Figure was already downsizing

Without goals, and plans to reach them,
you are like a ship that has set sail with no destination.
You can’t hit a home run unless you step up to the plate.
You can’t catch a fish unless you put your line in the water.
You can’t reach your goals if you don’t try.

It is my right to be uncommon . . .
if I can; I seek opportunity . . . not security.
I do not wish to be a kept citizen,
humbled and dulled by having the state look after me.
I want to take the calculated risk;
to dream and to build, to fail and to succeed.
I refuse to barter incentive for a dole.
I prefer the challenges of life to the guaranteed existence;
the thrill of fulfillment to the stole calm of utopia.
I will not trade freedom for beneficence nor my dignity for a handout.
I will never cower before any master nor bend to any threat.
It is my heritage to stand erect, proud, and unafraid;
to think and act for myself;
enjoy the benefits of my creations
and to face the world boldly and say,
‘This I have done, and this is who I am".’
He who is not courageous enough to take risks will accomplish nothing in life.

develop his achievement muscle.

We all have our own life to pursue,
our own kind of dream to be weaving.
And we all have some power to make wishes come true,

To accomplish great things,
we must not only act, but also dream;
not only plan, but also believe
It's not what you go through that defines you;

best of luck to BC Girl and IFBB Pro Zoa Linsey
who's competing today in Ms.International at the ARNOLD CLASSIC
in Columbus, Ohio....
we'll be watching and rooting you on from here in BC
“Begin to be now what you will be hereafter.”
The first thing I thought of when reading the above quote was
that often used line,
fake it ‘til you make it.
Fake it ‘til you make it doesn’t imply you should be disingenuous or someone you’re not,
but it does make the same point that William James of Harvard was making,
that in order to become something in the future greater than we are in the present,
we much use the present moment to begin to act as if we already were that person.
If you wish to become a winner,
you don’t sit back and hope it’ll happen,
you begin right now to practice behaving like a winner
by doing what winners do and soon enough you’ll become a winner.
Our outer world is merely a representation of our inner world,
we can never do,
be or have anything which we don’t first possess on the inside,
therefore if we want to improve our outer world
the place to start is inside
and the time to start is today,
right here and right now.
Ask yourself today,
‘How might the wisdom of William James help me to be,
do and have all I desire in the future
by beginning to be that right now in the present?’

Ms. International Women's Pro Bodybuilding Play-by-Play comments, as given by Dave Palumbo of RX Muscle:
CATHY LEFRANCOIS: Excellent tan….. and polish. Shredded. Super detail in back… smaller than usual but more aesthetic.. striated pecs… Cut her hair into a bob………very cute
YAXENI ORIQUEN: Absolutely shredded…….. polished. Crazy side triceps…. Hams are sliced… She’ll be very tough to beat…….. insane.
KIM BUCK: legs are super separated.. Tiny waist. Great back detail. Right glute has a lump on it. Presentation can be a little more professional. Probably the best she’s looked though… capped delts
TINA CHANDLER: looks bigger than I’ve seen her………..but a little softer, rounder… Glutes are tight but not crazy striated. Abs are a little blurred.
MARIA SEGURA: Tons of muscle… Striated thick glutes….. thick quads…….. I’ve seen her tighter
ALEVTINA GOROSHINSKAYA: Arnold Amateur Winner from last year….. tons of muscle; can be harder….
MONIQUE JONES: Great structure….. awesome delts and thickness…. Ripped abs; leg separation……. Structurally she’s one of the best out there.
MARIA RITA BELLO: Crazy striated………..insane pecs……… side leg is best I’ve ever seen.. Striate glutes beyond striated. Back double is tremendous. A little blocky in waist but best she’s been
KIM PEREZ: Fantastic upper body……. Small waist…..legs need more size….
BRIGITA BREZOVAC: polished….. crazy conditioning……… striated glutes…. Striated triceps….. great ab-thigh…….. great leg separation…..
ZOA LINSEY: Biggest girl onstage……. Huge delts…. Thick legs…. Can be tighter…… still holding a little…
GERALDINE MORGAN: Tan can be darker….. Lots of muscle. Very pretty….. needs to be tighter……
ALINA POPA: Tightest I’ve seen her. Coloring is awesome……. Crazy Sartorius development of legs… striated glutes.. super capped delts. Waist looks smaller…… Fantastic structure. Great back double and rear lat….. should be top 3 for sure.
DEBI LASZEWKSKI: great delts….. side triceps is fantastic. Good back double but lacks the WOW of Alina Popa or Yaxeni.. Has certainly maximized her physique.

Men’s ARNOLD PREJUDGING as per Dave Palumbo:
BEN WHITE: put back his lost size……… great arms…….. good side chest…….. Thick quads… super big pecs…….. glutes and hams need to be tighter……… This is a great look for BEN (aside from the glutes)……… great muscle shot!
EVAN CENTOPANI: coloring is great this year. Tons of muscle. Insane arms.. a little flat…….but he definitely made some muscle gains……more complete…. Needs to be a little fuller….
MATTHIAS BOTTHOF: German.. huge arms….. long torso…… very small legs………….. excellent back development. Pecs are striated but need more size
LIONEL BEYEKE: Just won 2012 FLEX Pro.. legs are sliced…. Good front double…….. He cut his hair……. Striated pecs… Feathered lower lats…….. glutes/hams are still weak. He’s down in weight but not much harder from FLEX.
DEXTER JACKON: Arms are looking bigger than usual……… excellent side chest…… Glutes/hams not tight enough………. This is not the DEX we saw in MIAMI…….. his waist is not as sharp either….
EDUARDO CORREA: crazy striated…..glutes/hams/lower lats…. Great muscle shots………. His conditioning is really freaky. How will the judges place him among some of the other monsters?
GUSTAVO BADELL: His conditioning is not where it needs to be….. not a great comeback for GUSTAVO…. Back is still thick and wide… Arms are still freaky. His legs are much smaller than the old Gustavo.
BRANCH WARREN: Great upper body size.. Conditioning is there……….the RIGHT LEG (which was torn) is noticeably smaller but It might not hurt him too much….. His lower back can be a little dryer…… His front and sides are great; back is not as hard….. Should be in that top 3…..
FOUAD ABIAD: Not as “popping” as FLEX…….. a little water in back poses……but conditioning is excellent….. No “wow” from front…… a little flat maybe?
BRANDON CURRY: Great front lat spread.. put on a lot of thickness…….glutes are striated (but a little small). Great arm shots……… good side triceps…. Holding a slight film of water.
BEN PAKULSKI: Better than at FLEX PRO. Crazy legs…….. best calves onstage… glutes are pealed… good back double………he could be thicker in the back. Great delts… excellent muscle shots
MICHAEL KEFALIANOS: Always shredded…… his right glute cheek is all lumped up. Good back shots…. Not structurally great but he’s done his homework.
SHAWN RHODEN: Better than he was at FLEX Pro… Side leg is impressive. Crazy muscle separation…. Just not BIG ENOUGH to match some of these other guys. He’ll be dangerous with another 8-10lbs of muscle.
DENNIS WOLF: front quads are insanely muscled and separated…… biggest structure up there…. Very complete physique…….. no glutes/hams (very shallow)…… lower back is not tight. His conditioning is not sharp. He’ll still be a contender for the title
1st CALLOUT:
EVAN CENTOPANI

DENNIS WOLF

ARNOLD PRO BIKINI INTERNATIONAL
JENNIFER ANDREWS: Great butt……. Lacks “WOW” when she comes in softer (even though the judges tell her to come in softer)
JAIME BAIRD: great stage presence…… Love the blue suit. Crowd favorite
DIANA GRAHAM: I’ve seen her tighter… Cute presentation
JESSICA JESSIE: Jessica can be a little harder in lower body. Like the blond highlights in her hair
ABIGAIL BURROWS: butt needs to be tighter. Very attractive…… Good midsection
JULIANA DANIELL: Great purple suit. Extremely attractive. Needs a little more “butt”…… Tight waist… like her
SONIA GONZALEZ: former Ms O…… Great butt. Midsection is a little thick
CANDYCE GRAHAM: Like the white sequined suit. Great athletic body…. Teeny waist.
LEXI KAUFMAN: Glutes can be tighter….. I’ve seen her conditioning beter
NATHALIA MELO: Super exotic.. great butt….. great ripped abs…. works the stage ….. Butt is fantastic but a little jiggly
NICOLE NAGRANI: Reigning MS OLYMPIA. Great butt…. Smallest waist onstage… gotta be favorite
INDIA PAULINO: Always a crowd favorite…. Works the stage…….. can be a little harder. Good overall look
JESSICA PAXSON: beautiful….. legs are a little flat and straight up and down
NATALIE PENNINGTON: great purple suit. Glutes are a little flat. Small waist.
MONIQUE RICARDO: Taller competitor.. exotic. Long torso throws off her proportion a little
TIANNA TA: Super exotic. Tiny waist……….slightly long torso…..
CHRISTINA VARGAS: excellent conditioning… Super cute. Good look for her.

For my unconquerable soul.

I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.
Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds and shall find me unafraid.

this thread is pretty funny. I thought it was meant to be a Q & A thread? I don't see much Q & A going on
I wasn't talking smack; I was inquiring as to purpose because I hadn't seen many questions and since I like to learn from different perspectives I wasn't finding it overly useful since I wasn't seeing many questions or answers being provided.
So when I come and read a thread that doesn't live up to the benefits of a forum for me - to learn - then I'm left wondering why I bothered investing my time to click and read.
I like the motivational quotes, I find them inspiring! I know that if I had a question to ask I could come here and I would get the answer from a Veteran female bodybuilder FB would be more then kind to answer it. There is MAYBE a handful of females on this board which doesn't drive alot of questions....
Yes!!! Nate drama its been so long since I've had decent entertainment.
I like them
Inspiration ,Motivation and Determination is what is required to reach any goal in life and for many people these quotes can offer that extra push that may help them acheive what they are trying to do ,even if its just getting through a particularly hard day.
If something as simple as an inspirational quote or saying can motivate a person to accomplish things of great difficulty for them then how could you find fault in that? .
