BCABBA 2013 AGM (Annual General Meeting) Notes, Decision, Info…
Kelowna WESTERN CANADIAN SHOW in May WILL STILL QUALIFY TOP 3 FOR BC CHAMPIONSHIPS.
CROSSOVERS: it was decided we will be allowing CROSSOVERS within the same year, but not within the same show (ie: if you competed in BIKINI at the Krack Klassic show and for Kelowna show you decided you want to compete in FIGURE you now can)
Starting in 2014 Masters Athletes in Figure & Bikini MUST QUALIFY TOP 3 at a NOVICE LEVEL SHOW in order to compete in the BC CHAMPIONSHIPS. EXEMPT are Masters, Grand Masters Bodybuilders can go straight to BC’s without qualifying
2014 WOMENS & MENS PHYSIQUE COMPETITORS MUST QUALIFY TOP 3 at a NOVICE LEVEL SHOW in order to compete in the BC CHAMPIONSHIPS
Any BC OVERALL CHAMPION ATHLETE who wants to compete in a different category / crossover you must submit a “BY” to BCABBA and will be handled on an individual basis (ie: if you are an Overall BC Champ in Fitness and you would like to crossover to Figure, or Figure crossover to Physique)
ATHLETES WHO NO SHOW AT THE NIGHT SHOW get a two year ban (legitimate reasons are an exception (ie: Medical Emergency). This extends to B.C. athletes in CBBF National and IFBB (as in World Qualifier & North American & World Championship ) events as well. BCABBA will impose the two year ban on a B.C. athlete
Athlete funding for the year totaled $42,000 for 2013. Funding for National level athletes is available every year. Criteria must be met see www.bcabba.org for more info
New NOVICE show added for 2014 KRACK KLASSIC March 1st, 2014 in New Westminster
The 2014 calendar of events: Krack Klassic - Mar. 1; Western Canadian Natural - May 18; Northern Classic - Jun. 7; B.C. Provincial Championships- Jun. 29; Sandra Wickham Fall Classic - Nov. 8
Athletes who compete in the Western Canadian Natural Championships are once again able to qualify for the B.C's due to the introduction of the Krack Klassic.
Michelle Krack is setting up a Female Athlete Bursary for female athletes competing within the BCABBA. Contact her for further information.
Point raised about the importance of music editing for night show routines. Rules are posted on our site, and will be strictly enforced. ANY PROFANITY WILL NOT BE TOLERATED… if you do NOT edit it from your posing routine YOU WILL BE DISQUALIFIED NO EXCEPTIONS
BCABBA now has a facebook page and twitter account….

“We do not believe in ourselves until someone reveals
that deep inside us something is valuable,
worth listening to, worthy of our trust, sacred to our touch.
Once we believe in ourselves we can risk
curiosity, wonder, spontaneous delight or any experience”
“Self-esteem creates natural highs.
Knowing that you're lovable helps you to love more.
Knowing that you're important helps you to make a difference to to others.
Knowing that you are capable empowers you to create more.
Knowing that you're valuable and that you have a special place in the universe
is a serene spiritual joy in itself.”

“I don’t regret the things I’ve done,
I regret the things I didn’t do when I had the chance.”
“Challenges are what make life interesting
and overcoming them is what makes life meaningful.”
“Don’t worry about failures,
worry about the chances you miss when you don’t even try.”
“The only thing that stands between you and your dream is
the will to try and the belief that it is actually possible.”

If you don't like something, change it.
If you can't change it, change your attitude.
It is not the strongest of the species that survives,
nor the most intelligent that survives.
It is the one that is the most adaptable to change.
God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change,
the courage to change the things I can,
and the wisdom to know the difference.

One way to keep momentum going is
to have constantly greater goals.
Emptiness is a symptom that you are not living creatively.
You either don't have goal that is important enough to you,
or you are not using your talents and efforts in a striving toward a GOAL !
The most important key to achieving great success is
to decide upon your goal and launch,
get started, take action, move.
This one step
choosing a goal and sticking to it
changes everything.
JUST DO IT !

When you set goals,
something inside of you starts saying,
"Let's go, let's go,"
and ceilings start to move up.
Unless you have a definite, precise, clearly set goals,
you are not going to realize
the maximum potential that lies within you.
You need a plan to build a house.
To build a life, it is even more important to have a plan or goal.
What you get by achieving your goals
is not as important as what you become
by achieving your goals.
JUST DO IT

"The more intensely we feel about an idea or a goal,
the more assuredly the idea,
buried deep in our subconscious,
will direct us along the path to its fulfillment."
"A goal properly set is halfway reached."
"Goals give you a compass
in order to direct your path through life.
Goals focus your thoughts and actions
on areas that have precise purpose and meaning."
In other words,
GOALS give YOUR LIFE PURPOSE !

RISK.....
While one person hesitates because he feels inferior,
the other is busy making mistakes and becoming superior.
Only those who will risk going too far
can possibly find out how far one can go.
If you are not willing to risk the unusual,
you will have to settle for the ordinary.
Life is inherently risky.
There is only one big risk you should avoid at all costs,
and that is the risk of doing nothing.

He who would accomplish little must sacrifice little;
he who would achieve much must sacrifice much;
he who would attain highly must sacrifice greatly.
Sacrifice, which is the passion of great souls,
has never been the law of societies.
The mighty Oak was once a little nut that stood its ground.
To accomplish great things,
we must not only act,
but also dream;
not only plan,
but also believe.
JUST DO IT
