Usually, the guy will train someone 'below them' and hire someone 'above them' so to speak. So usually its not weird. For example, often times, pros will train amateurs, or even national level guys. But they are getting trained by 'pro trainers'. So in that sense, it makes sense. For example, micheal phelps could have probably given me a few tips on how to swim when I was a kid, but he needs a coach to get him to winning multiple golds.
I do know some examples where I know what you mean though...I am seeing alot of that with figure girls these days. Seems everyone has a 'team' of girls they train these days, when half the ones they are taining are just as good as them - and they aren't that good, lol.
