honest means unpleasant or disturbing,
They want a soft answer that turneth away anxiety.
Integrity is telling myself the truth.

Manita explains after having her 2nd baby....
"Before long I was back at the gym looking for a trainer, since my other one retired. I ran into Dawn Alison then. I had heard such wonderful things about her that it was an easy transition for me. She coached me and mentored me for months and suggested I do the Western Canadian Natural Championships in Kelowna, BC, on May 21st, after months of training hard and dieting, I walked onstage and to my biggest surprise, I was placed first in my height Class."
"Having the right support behind you can help take you above and beyond your limitations. I owe my success to my first trainer Roberta Orth for getting me started in this field and now Dawn Alison, who is my mom away from mom. Nothing was done or "eaten" unless she knew about it. She is a guru in what she does, and if it wasn't for her powerful words of wisdom and support, I wouldn't be where I am today. She completely transformed my body into what it is today and I am forever thankful."

No one can make you feel inferior without your consent
If you live long enough, you'll make mistakes.
But if you learn from them, you'll be a better person.
It's how you handle adversity, not how it affects you.
The main thing is never quit, never quit, never quit.
if you create the body you want
if you do the best you can with the genetics & the body you are given
under the conditions you are under
and you put yourself on stage in a competition
as long as you are happy with yourself
NO ONE CAN TAKE THAT AWAY FROM YOU
YOU ARE YOUR TROPHY
be happy with yourself & what you have accomplished
all you can control is yourself & your attitude
you cannot control who's onstage with your
or what the judges do
if you have expectations and those are not met you are setting yourself up
but if you are content in what you created
really thatz truely all that matters
this is why i always STRONGLY SUGGEST PEOPLE GET LOTS OF PROFESSIONAL PICTURES
BOTH ONSTAGE & A PRIVATE SHOOT WITH A GREAT PHOTOGRAPHER
because it's these incredible pictures that capture all your hard work & sacrifice
that over the yrs will give you countless moments of joy recalling everything you had to go thru to get there
not some dusty ugly old trophy
or a title that lasts only until the next yr when a new champion is crowned
i have tons of pics that go back from the when i started in competing in bodybuilding in 1992
but started training for competition seriously in 1987
competed in powerlifting to put on mass for bodybuilding 1990 - 1991 and all those pix
if i had listened to what the head judge in BC said about me in 1994 i'd have quit back then
he said i didn't have the hourglass shape they were looking for
so basically i didn't have the genetics to cut it
the picture below was of that show
where i didn't even get in the top 5 outta 7
i was completely devastated, but after i licked my wounds i came back the next yr in 1995 and won the overall and hvywts in Prince George
and got 2nd in BC Champ losing by 1 point & got 2nd at the Westerns
and 2nd again at BC Champs in 1999
took 9 yrs off to have my son then returned in 2008 to be crowned....

and have been going to Nationals every yr since
last yr my best finish 3rd at Nationals in Masters Heavywts
and here i am in 2011 at 46 yrs old goin on 47 in november
closer than i've ever been to my goal my dream
but if i'd remained discouraged, if i'd listened to other people & not my heart
then where would i have been ?
always always always follow your heart **** your head **** what others say or think
BE WHO YOU ARE
FOLLOW YOUR DREAMS
DON'T LET ANYONE TELL YOU YOU CAN'T DO IT
AND FOR GODS SAKE....
NEVER EVER EVER GIVE UP
