My g/f gets bouts of vertigo which her doctor couldn't diagnose - He ran a series of tests and bloodwork and nothing came up. He thinks it's a viral infection in the inner ear which causes dizinness.

Anyway, not satisfied with the doctors half-diagnosis a friend recommended she see a naturopath who used a machine that she held on to with both hands. This device apparently scans the whole body and identifies problem areas in every organ as well as circulation.

Now while I have no problem thinking that alternative medicine has it's place, HOW on earth did this device measure and conclude she's producing too much growth hormone? The Naturopath said this is what could be messing up her circulation and blood sugar levels, which in turn could be causing the vertigo.

This is the device

He's now put her on a low calorie diet that's almost a liquid cleanse to 'flush out the toxins and regulate her pituitary gland to control GH release'

Anyone else have any experience with this device? Is it all smoke and mirrors? I can only imagine people would be led to believe it's results instead of good old fashioned blood work and tests based on science.

Not to be rude but search your G/F purse and room.

Forget Naturopaths. All their machines are snake oil. I used to go to one who used that electromagnetic bullshit to see what you are "allergic" too. Yeah right. Total snake oil.

Looks like complete and utter horseshit to put it mildly.

Ya! what they said^^^ but there is nothing wrong with a good cleanse to rid your body of toxins. Espescially if you havent been drinking enough water and eating properly, I dont see how it could hurt anyway but its probably really stupidly expensive.

There's a difference with natural medicines and naturopaths. naturopaths are on the same level as tarot readers in my book. God I hate those charlatans with a passion

Not all naturopaths are BS.

I've been going to the same one since I was 3 years old. My parents had to rush me to the emergency room when I was 3 because I woke up with extreme abdominal pain. Doctor didn't know what was wrong and sent me on my way. My folks took me to this naturopath's apartment late at night, he was kind enough to see me, right there in the lobby he gave me something, don't remember what, but the pain went away.

Been going to him ever since, and he's helped me everything from hyetal hernia to pnemonia. Smoke and mirrors? Hardly.

Do some ****ing research before you dismiss naturopath's as fakes.. there are some that are new age morons, but there are also real, qualified individuals who know what they're doing, and know how to treat the human body like something more than just a pill recepticle.

As far as that bodyscan thing goes.. who knows.. the body is comprised of magneticl electrical fields but can a device hooked up to a computer really tell you everything that's going on in your body? I'd love to see some proof..
