Hey guys and gals im training a couple who is about 26 years old. The guy is doing good and having no problems. The girl im training however is not getting good results. Her diet i got her on is not too serious becuase you can not go to extreme right off the bat but she is not losing weight or building muscle. She does 45-1:15 of cardio at least 4 days a week and trains all body parts relatively intense. She has tried the firelean (with ephedra) and lost some weight but im not the biggest ephys fan and neither is she. I got her on Nutrex Lipo6X which i found in my expierence with me and my gf to work great. But for her i bottle down and no result. I know diet, exercise, and lifestyle all play a more important factor but what wheight loss drugs (No AAS please) do women find works good for cutting fat. any suggestions would be great...

if she's not losing weight, and your diet you have her on is good enough, then she's either eating more than you're telling her to is my guess...Its been my experience that people tend to eat more than they think they are, picking at things throughout the day, or lieing to you (and themselves) about how strict they are being.
If the above is not true, then perhaps it is time to have a more serious diet. Perhaps post her stats and what your have her eating roughly calorie wise. I really don't think a fat burner will do anything in terms of fatloss if diet remains the same. it's not like the fatburners magically burn an additional 1000 calories per day in metabolism reving!

Shit forget the stats pretty vital 5'10' at 170+ pounds and id say 25%BF just a rough estimate of bf she is to shy to get it actually tested. I realize she must be cheating on her diet but isnt there anything that can help with the fat on stubborn areas. She basicly doesnt want to go to crazy with diet i tried but she seems to not be interested. I wish she would take it seriously but she is not 110% into it like all of us so...
***also do you think it may be a sluggish thyroid issue? Her genetics are not the worst her whole family on both sides is tall and skinny (very very skinny) so its odd but im not sure here.

there is a very small chance for sluggish thyroid...but as dr. phil always says, that's a load of crap! Sounds to me she's not giving it her all, which is what it takes. Even those dedicated that compete have a hard time with diet from time to time, and without the actual competition, many of us don't have the will power to stay lean...
I wouldn't recommend anyone in the above situation start a fat burner...in the long run, they'll probably end up in worse shape.

I geuss your right with the rebound from coming off and all the mediocore diet it will probobly be money wasted. I wish she would listen to me because she wants help to lean out and thinks im some magic man. I dont perform magic and theres no secret pill but i cant seem to instill that in here. If she would stop thinking about supplements to help and concentrate on diet and meal timing she would likely make some progress. I cant perform miracles unfortunatly and she is thinking im some half fast trainer when i dont recomend a supplement. Im getting frustrated because everyone i train/talk to wants the east way out or the path of least resistance. In BB and in living a healthier lifestlye that isnt the way to go...!!!!gr..

there it is! lol...
Everyone wants a quick fix... There isn't one.
Women lose weight different than men.. and we sit at SIGNIFICANTLY higher BF%... in my opinion... following a moderate diet and doing 4 hours cardio a week is not enough to see any results. At my gym we ALL had at least 1 hour cardio a DAY on top of our workouts (pre contest I had 2 hours a day cardio, one girl had alot of weight to drop and for 4 weeks had SIX hours a DAY!!)
tell her every timbit she cheats on = 1 hour on the treadmill.
That being said... I took CLA as a fatburner and 4 glasses of green tea a day.

Hey Tav..I'm 23 % bf..does she look like me? I meant the giggle and love handles?
Remember when I gave you my food scale and said you need to learn to measure the oz of what your eating.
My thoughts are she is not..she thinks a 6 oz pc of chicken is 4.
And is she using whey? LOOK at the scoops they put into some of them..it's nearly double the size of the listed calories in the outside label.

If diet is good, and you're 170+ then 4 hours per week should be enough to start seeing results. Once she loses a lot of weight, then yes, it will take more drastic measures to see results.
6h per day is really drastic though. I thought my methods were extreme...that is just ridiculous. If you do some math, and even assume that your maintenance calories are ZERO (ie, you would gain weight eating 100 calories per day), then you should still be able to get by with less than 6 hours a day unless you're eating too much!

FC i must be way off then with the 25% estimate becuase she has much more BF than you. Now come to think about it i dont judge the BF of women very well becuase im used to myself and that. But she is probobly 120lbs of lean mass and 50bf so a lot more than i thought.
Dryvgirl i love your hardcore advice. i appreciate your input but she is in too poor of shape to do 6hrs cardio but i will take your advice and get her doing more becuase this is my first time having to train a women and i have a lot to learn. And thank you for the CLA advice im going to look into it for her. Even being very overweight would CLA still help.. Truthfully i dont even no her weight she is to embarrased to get on the scale.

well... she went from a chunky softball player to placing 2nd in BB at provincials in a year and a bit! lol soo extreme, yes... but it worked!
Bigtavi8--- Leigh does alot of work with VERY overweight women. Many of them "join a gym" or hire a trainer as a way to show others they are serious about changing thier lifestyle... when actually, they aren't ready yet. And... the failure rate (that being the number of women who get results and fail to KEEP the results) with overweight women is extremely high. I'm guessing your client has used every reason in the world to sabatoge her training... sore back? thyroid? genetics? bad knees? fybromyalgia(spelling?)...
Do you ever watch the Biggest Loser? Jillian Micheals (the chick trainer on that show who is TOTALLY HOT imo)seems to have a method that works for obese people... check out her website. Lots of stuff Leigh incorperated into her training of overweight women.

It is still a little too drastic in my mind...Especially if it was for 4 weeks at the end of the diet, it just meant that with 4 weeks to go she wasn't ready and needed to do drastic things...Probably could have been avoided by dieting more consistently throughout. Like I said, I am pretty drastic myself, and usually have 2 weeks of hell at the end, but that is just too much in my mind!
What happened after the show? If she stopped cardio, or even reduced to 1 h, she would have had a massive rebound!

yes... she did. Her goal was to compete, she didn't take training seriously enough or follow her diet at the beginning (like bigtavi8's client) and the only way to get her to competition form was insane cardio...
I'm not saying anyone should do 6 hours cardio a day! but someone overweight who is not following a diet 100% and wants to lose weight (like the original poster was saying) needs more than 4 hrs a week!

Tav, there is no easy way/pill to get her to lose weight. If she regularly cheats on her diet, she will not see the results she wants no matter what she does.

thermo genesis, has a butload of cafeine and ephedrine kind of intense for a chick, 1 pill is plenty

oh for sure....don't follow a diet, and you gotta make up for it somewhere. It all boils down to calories in vs calories out. I would guess she is taking in about 500 a day too much, and balancing that out by doing 4 hours of cardio per week. either drop the calories some, or up the cardio (or both).
If you just can't convince her in a normal way, and don't want to give up home on her then give her a placebo pill (fill some pills with nothing but protein powder). Then tell her the only way these work is if your diet is perfect. And if its not, say she'll put on lots of water or something silly. I don't normally recommend tricking someone, but hey...it doesn't look like she's going to succeed either way, so why give her something that will hurt her.
