Ok where do I buy this nowadays.
Superstore used to have 4kg of frozen boobies for 27$. Now they either don't carry it or its 33$.
Safeway is 37$ but sometimes they'll have sales for 27$.
A box is roughly 10 meals at ~45g of protein so 33$ is too much.
It's cheaper to buy ground turkey from costco at 5.5$ per lb nowadays and that's just wrong.
Where do you guys buy yours?

skineless boneless chicken breasts cost me more at costco than at the grocery store. About a 1$ difference at the grocery store. The quality however is better at costco, but considering they make you buy it in $30 amount packs, I expect more of a deal.
how much protein is a single chicken breast ?

I've been buying my breasts at the butcher shop, Marcello's, good taste but I'm paying full price.. The 2 common suppliers here are grannys and dunnrite. I was buying mine from the shack in the dunnrite parking lot by the box till they started injecting them with water. I'd love to buy them from the hudderites but I've only seen them for sale as whole chickens. The hudderite chickens are the best tasting by far but I'm just looking for the breasts.
I'm still looking for a good under ground source of chicken breasts in Winnipeg

This is a dirty little trick they like to play and have no idea how this is legal. I knew a guy who works in the industry and he confesed to me it`s common practice to do this injection trick. By average it brings up the weight by 25%
I think Costco does this a minimal amount.
Safeway had a bunch on sale, and you could tell they had a lot more water in them compared to Costco.

must be a BC thing I never see it. They used to be 27$ year round...then about 6 months ago every once in a while they'd up it to 33$ and then they don't stock it at all now.

How about price matching...... a lot of stores near me will price match if you bring in another stores flyer.

The boxes of chicken are almost never on flyers.
I think i'll just start eating the extra lean ground turkey at costco.

I didn't like the taste of the costco chicken very much truthfully.

Safeway here had it at $2.99/lb for a while. = $26 for 4kg.
Like I said, they weren't that good, wouldn't buy again, a lot of water, poorer quality breasts compared to Costco box.

I like them. I eat about 5 a day for last 4-5 months.

the way to tell if its water loaded chicken is the % of protein written on the box,i believe it should read minmum 17 % protein any lless its been watered down, ill check those numbers and correct if im wrong.

I haven't bought a box of frozen chicken in a while. When I was in Guelph I just went to the farmers market and made a deal with a farmer to buy bulk from him. It worked out to 1.90 or so a pound. I bought whole chickens, and dressed them myself. Its easy you just need a sharp knife and patience.
