hello! I'm at a bit of a slump!
I ask Leigh for advice on where I should focus my training and I think she is afraid of hurting my feelings (or she is too focused on Nationals) and gives me a standard "you look good"... which makes me feel good, but seriously, I want to make more improvements!
sooo *big breath*... I can take it! ... please give me the straight goods on where I should be focusing on to get a nice symetrical proportioned look.

I think I need more definition on the legs, and more size on top. this is aprox when I started training (going from marathon runner to fitness competitior) aprox Oct 08, to April 09 at Novice.

Do you have a bigger pic? I have problems to see your muscle definition clearly on that size. But the transformation at first glance is great.

Better though.

Quads for sure you need more mass. From the angle, also your delts and bi's look like they could use a bit more.

My recommendation is add overall mass, concentrating on quads. First place has 4 years of adding muscle on her frame. But for 1 year of serious work, you have done a fab job. Looking forward to your progress.

I would concentrate on delts, arms, and quad sweep. Overall I would strive for being leaner next time as well...it gets better each show...cant really see the back but from the front in that order. Delts abs, flowing thighs and calves are the show me muscles in figure...if you are strong there and conditioned youll do well.
Good Luck!

bigger delts and quad sweep will give you a better "X" frame. Do you have any back shots?

Nice shot:) You've certainly come along way since last Oct! Change is usually quick to start, then tapers off. DON'T GIVE UP! Keep focused. Definately use more size in the delts and bring up the back a bit....it'll give you a better v-taper. Also, don't forget to hit the calves.

Actually, quad / quad sweep is your best body part in my opinion. If anything, work on delts and back as those seem to be your weakness, and usually quite important as far as figure is judged. I think it might have been the angle of the picture because I really don't think that is where you need more mass...

better say Hello to the Muscle Milk, eh?

(just for shits and giggles, I'm posting a pic of me when I was bigger, which might have something to do with why "gettin bigger" kinda scares me) this is me when I was 21 (17 yrs ago)

I hit the gym today with a renewed determination!! :)
thanks again for the feedback! I think getting into the mental frame of "ok... lets get bigger" is a bit of a hard one for alot of women... I KNOW I have a LONG way to go... but today, I lifted as heavy as I could! instead of lifting what's safe and easy!! (it's a step!)

Thanks again!

You have a great frame lots of room for quality mass

IMO, you need to cap off those delts, that means heavy off season lifting, get into the deads and rows for back also, i think the whole package can use some more size overall, you can do a tonne in a yr if you are driven.....Arms will come with what i said above, get into the basic movements compound movements and focus on that for the yr and then start prep without to much fat added and you will amaze yourself....
way to represent, good stuff...
BDH is a flirt and he wants me, secretly im his #1 female, i just havent untucked yet....muahahaha,sorry to digress ...good thread

Glutes. Tighter, higher. part of that is posing, really stick your ass out in the back pose to get rid of any creases. Same with the shoulders as everyone has mentioned. Your entire posterior chain needs to be brought up to match the front.
