I am trying to bulk and have been trying to stick to a good diet high protein low fat and carbs but I find, do to work, it is difficult during the day as I am on the road and with the heat leaving food in the car not such a good idea.

I was reading an article on the net and it clearly stated "eat" don't worry about the calories or the composition of the food if you get hungry don't wait for a ideal meal but eat something or your body will start breaking down muscle. By this time your body will not be in a fat burning state but is looking for protein.

Would you agree its more important to eat something AKA McChicken or sub then to skip or wait for a ideal balanced meal.

A sub is far from a MC-chicken dude. If you stuck to subs on the road i think those calories are pretty clean. The meat is processed, but its better than no food at all for sure.

If you want to keep food in your car and keep it cool, pack a cooler and put a bunch of those freezer packs in the cooler. Even in a sweltering hot car your food will stay cool for hours.

food + cooler = win

Do what many of us do and bring our food in coolers. Frequently I drive back and forth between Ottawa and North of Toronto which is about 5 hours. Depending on when I leave I'm eating 1 or 2 meals on the road and invariably one of them is a fish meal - cold fish.

Suck it up and get it done. Sure a dirty meal is fine every now and then but much better is a clean meal

Can also look into one of those coolers they plug into the lighter socket to keep cool. All foods are not created equal so you choices play a big role in reaching your goals.

LOL...My kid thinks we eat fancy if we eat on paper plates because its a step above tupperware containers!

Mike... I drive for a living too... cooler is the way to go... freeze a few bottles of water to keep everything extra cold then you've got cold water later on too!
(every once in a while when I screw something up and don't have food made, the "fast food" place go to is safeway or sobey's... they've got spinach and a can of tuna... mmmmmmm lol)

Really look into getting a cooler bag. I work 12 hour shifts and its key. Just pack it with cooler packs and ice. Just make sure you get a good one.

Some easy sources of protein for the road: Hard-boiled eggs / Tuna / Protein shake.

It really is pretty easy to get the hang of it once you start. 2 years ago I thought it was impossible and could never keep up. Nowadays, I have a prepared and ready meal every single time. The only time it is thrown off is when I get invited to something unexpectedly and it's too soon to eat again then I have to compromise (split meals, take something on the go..etc).
