Jailbreak ipodtouch 2G

I have looked to cbb for help on numerous occasions and have always found the help that Ive been looking for. I changed my HD to fat, downloaded torrents, converted files and much more due to cbb members helping me out in the past. Now Im on to something new, its fairly easy but still have a few questions.

I have downloaded quickfreedom and the firmware 2.2.1 for my ipod touch 2G. I am currently getting it running. Ill update everyone on how it goes.

My question is: am i able to buy and download apps from itunes after jailbreaking my ipod? as there are some apps I cant find via torrent sites.

I really am a newbie and any info or headsups would be great.

Alright Ive broken it, and loaded my music back on, but when I try to load an app from a torrent it says 'not verified'. Any ideas?

You will have to SSH into your phone and install via Installous.
Do you have Cydia installed?

I have installed Installer, Cydia and Installous so far. Just not sure about the SSH thing.

Install OpenSSH via Cydia.
Download and install WinSCP.

You can update if you want. I did and then jailbroke it.

OK I cant get putty.exe to work and i get 'network connection failed'

Do I need putty or just winscr?

Im following the boss forums now, putty wont connect so ima try winscr.

Whats the difference? and why wont it connect? I downloaded sbssettings, and ssh. I go to settings, get my ip addy, put it into putty and my network still fails.

I have WinSCP working now just not sure how to use it. One box has my documents and the other has private/var/root

I unzipped and game and saved it on my pc under downloads(its an ipa file) im using winscp to transfer it to private/var/mobile/media downloads. Its done.

Where to now??

Open up Installous and select the downloads function. Select the app you want and install it. You should be good now. I use WinSCP not Putty. Never had a problem with it. As for the 2 screens - the one on the left is your computer and the one on the right is your iPhone. I don't really use the left one...I just open up the directory and drag the app to the iPhone directory screen.
I noticed that you have it going now...I'm just typing for others who want to try it out.

The easiest way is to d/l the hacked app and SSH it into the iphone. You can also use Installous and d/l them right into the iphone. You will need Installous to install both the SSH and the d/l'ed files.

I can't find Installous 2.0 on Cydia. What do i do?
Make sure the Hackulous repo is added in your sources. http://cydia.hackulo.us - add this in Cydia > Manage > Sources > Edit > Add

You have to add the repo first and then d/l it. From there you should be good.

You dont need cydia for 2g Iphones....

Just update to 3.0 then re-unlock using redsnow.
