Any good combinations you guys used when puree your own food for your infant?
We been making the switch the last few weeks to whole food slowly and been making some awseome food for the little guy. Today was puree avacado and banana, now maybe its because I am dieting but I could have eaten a few containers of the stuff it was great, something to look into mixing with some of my foods after my contest diet, lmao.
HE also like the yams. Hates carrots. We're going to try Peas tonite see how it goes.
Any recipes?

Hi....wow it's great to see this post here on this board.
Start them out healthy on day one. Solids foods are not to be started before 6 months of age. The Canadian Pediatric Society says that grains are to be started first, namely rice cereal.
Commercial single grain cereals are made from grains such as rice, barley and oat. These are refined grains. The process of refining takes out the Bran and the Germ (the most nutritious parts), leaving the Endosperm. You see, removing the germ and the bran allow grain products to stay on the grocer’s shelf longer.
That’s not really a comforting thought when you realize that the box of baby cereal you may purchase might have been on the shelf before your baby was even born. While the refining process does strip away many nutrients, these nutrients are added back in after the milling of the grain. Many commercial cereal products offered to baby are fortified with iron and typically contain further additives.
Commercial baby cereals are also precooked and dehydrated. This is best exemplified when you mix up some commercial cereal and find a pasty substance in the bowl. Many commercial baby cereals are whole grain and are made with whole grain flour. However there is nothing more pure and whole as buying whole grains and making them into baby cereal - 100% pure whole grain.
I suggest making your own. Take Oatmeal ann put it in the blende4..make sure you rock and roll the appliance as it is processing it into a fine dust. U know when it was made, how it was turned into a fine grain......you know it won't be recaledd. Babies love it.
Babies can live off of breastmilk ONLY well beyond 6 months and do skip the pureed baby food mode used to start solids.

We have been feeding him the grain cereal in the mornings, he's still on breast milk+formula as well. We are making our own baby food from organic vegetables and he loves the stuff. Why do you say to skip that? We just mix it all up in a mixer, freeze them till we need them. We do this about 2x a day right now. He's 7 months old now almost 8 mo's.
Heres a pretty good site, the wife and i use for our baby. It has some pretty good info too.
