Yeah, that'd be fine for most everything besides gaming. You might be able to find something a bit cheaper, but you should try to view one in person to make up your mind whether you like it or not.

Vista the only option? I tried it and didn't like it. There's nothing wrong with XP (besides being Windows...). Which Vista should you use if you can only choose Vista? Probably whichever one is cheapest. I've never paid for an OS.

I can tell you a bit more if you give me the clock speed of the cpu. But I never heard of the brand to be honest. Why not stick to a dell, hp, or toshiba which are all proven? You can get them for about that price too. You can also get an acer for cheaper but acer is ho hum in my books.

If you can, get xp instead of vista. Vista is slow imo. If you do get vista, get at least 2 gb ram.

From what you posted, it says "up to 2gb ram". That means you can put up to 2gb of ram but may have 512mb or 1g. Be sure about that. 1GB is the standard now.

Oh, also if you are not in a rush, keep watching prices. You'll have a ton of sales now because of xmas.

thx MP. the one i was looking at had the 2GB and duo core. i was just thinking along those lines, of waiting for christmas sales. there seems to be a lot on clearance already, so i am sure they will only get more anxious to move.

i am told seanix is one of Canada's largest computer makers? www.seanix.com, they are in richmond, BC.

i like the look of the HPs, their slick. some one said they didnt like toshiba because it had an integrated GPU? bah, i know nothing about these things.
