I ****ing HATE Rush..always have. I have never understood why they have any fans anywhere in the world...seriously. I don't get it.

I've always been a fan of Rush. It's what heard as i was growing up, along with a lot of other great bands. One of which i am going to see this Saturday!! KISS!!!!
I've often asked my self why people listen to club music, techno stuff. (<--on a regular basis)
I like everything though. i'm easy..

Though, like any band that isn't playing to the "Mainstream ear". They are an acquired taste. Imagine if music was all Nickleback, and simple plan... Then you'd be real nauseated.

I get it.....they are very talented musicians and great song writers......I get it. it's also cool that they are Canadian and made it big around the world.
However, I have to admit, I could never get into any of their stuff. They are one fo the small number of legendary bands that make me turn the radio station.
I turn the station whenever I hear Rush, The Guess Who, or Pink Floyd. Just can't take it.

Rush is probably my all time favorite band but i have to admit i cannot listen to anything they've put out in the last 20 years... I love 70's and 80's Rush but beyond that, i can't listen to it.

as mentionned, Rush is an acquired taste, at least for people that weren't born with an instrument in their hands...but once u understand everything that's going on in their music, u will be a fan forever...they're one of the few bands that make the hair on my arms stand up when I listen to them...

LOL! Haddaway sucks, that song is an ultimate stinker "what is love", ha ha ha... That crap sounds like euro dance music. Only an absolute clown would dig that shit. And pink floyd puts me to sleep. I understand they have a huge following and the only song I find is listenable by them is "Wish you were here". The rest zzzzz

I am glad Ron mentioned all those bands as being doodoo toaster... cant stand any of em, but Rush is by far the worst...
Haddaway is awesome... Nickleback kicks ass... and all the members of Simple Plan are dreamy...

I'm sure Rush's music is good (probably great) but Geddy Lee should gargle with acid and then light himself on fire. As a band, I have zero tolerance for them.
PS. Floyd rocks much ass.

I have never heard someone say RUSH sucks, thats odd.
I think the old stuff is great anyway, like from when I was in highschool, I dont listen to it much now.

I also know a lot of death metal musicians that are extremely talented too, but that music hurts my ears almost as much as Geddy Lee's cacophonic voice.

For those of you that don't like Getty's voice, give a listen to La Villa Strangiato. Lock yourself in a room with no other distracting sounds and listen carefully. Brings a tear to my eye everytime, even while I am ON.

The Beatles are great, no doubt. They've had a great influence on music, but I do think Floyd is better. Of course, there is no definitive winner. Music is all opinion based. There are people out there that would say both the Beatles and Floyd suck, and that Theory of a Deadman, or limp bizkit are the best. I guess, to them it actually rings true. A lot of people out there take music at face value. I listen to this, it's a background vibe, I don't get "Into it" but I like the beat, or the feel. The mainstream bands of the world play to the mainstream ears of the world, which are the majority. People who love music, and try to seek the best of it, are the minority. So music is what it is... Life to some, or just something to make them more "Social" to others. Etc. Anyway, I won't debate Floyd, and the Beatles... I know enough about music to know both are amazing and speak to people in different ways. The mark of someone who truly loves music, is to be able to say "Yes, that band is great for so many reasons. It's just not my thing." To me, bands like Floyd, King Crimson, Stp, Foo fighters, Sloan, Pete Yorn, are the best things i've ever heard. Though I can certainly see how a lot of people would sit back and say. F that, Nickleback Rule! They're not into music the same way I am.

Neil Peart is a drum god. Geddy Lee is one of the best bass players in the biz. Like them or not... they are amazing at playing music.
