Flies getting slow?

I noticed this last year and again this year. The flies are easy to kill now. Before whenever I would go to swat a fly, it would always buzz away before I`d get it. I`d have to use a fly swatter or a newspaper and didn`t always get the suckers. Now I can just get them with my bare hand or even with my thumb, I swear they`ve slowed down! Anyone else notice this? Maybe due to environmental changes? Or am I developing some kind of super power?

hmm not sure. Im back in calgary for the summer and they are eager as hell. But during the year when I'm in vic its like the flies are retarded, u can just grab them so easily. maybe its a new breed of retard flies
