chunks of rubber stopper in multi dose vial?

hey guys, i was just taking the oil out of stealth sachets(first time with stealth by the way) and it seems i have some small chunks of the rubber stopper floating around inside the oil...i was using an 18 guage to draw out of sachets and inject into multi dose vials.

is this something to be concerned about??

i think there to big to get up a 23G, deff 25G but could this potentially be a concern regarding sterility??

If you're gonna use these sachets, I'd advise to refilter. They're supposed to be sterile, but I wouldn't take the chance

Take your time use a smaller gauge through the rubber

18 is too big

yea i see that now... i guess my best bet is to get some syringe filters then...better safe then sorry eh?

I always use 18 gauge to draw and don't generally have a problem with rubber floaters.
I'd likely refilter it with a .22 whatman at some point just to be fussy but if I didn't have one handy I would just avoid drawing it into my syringe.

yea, im getting ready to order some syringe filters right now... ive never used them before...whats the propper procedure?

I would just make sure to put the pin in the same hole every time, as in only make 1 hole. . To fill/draw. The pin will create a seal and there will be no "other" holes to leak from. You will also not have abunch of rubber floating around from multiple punctures.

I don't know the proper procedure but

my procedure is....

I take a presealed lab sterilized vial
insert a fresh needle into it as a vent hole
I attach a needle to the filter and also insert it into the vial

I then take a syringe with a third needle and draw from the original vial
I remove the drawing needle and attach the syring to the filter and inject the oil into the sterile vial.


So you need 3 needles, 1 filter, a syringe and a sterile sealed vial.

i know several guys who have, who had great gains and no problems.

gear in sachet can't be sterile
why bother with intl orders with crappy gear when there's great canadian UGL

and yes there are some great ugl labs, i dont disagree with you there...but sometimes sources dissapear over night.

One of the big internet sachet sellers has a phenomenal record for taking money and not delivering. Whether the gear is dirty or not is an open debate. I've never actually received what was ordered so I'll never know. I'd rather go with powder than sachets if I'm going to bother with a non canadian source.

Thank you for saving me a post. If you find debris in your 'stealth' liquids throughthem in the damn garbage. Save your self some antibiotic therapy.

not all of us have access to good canadian ug labs.......especially when theres no way to find a source..
