Hello Everyone,

Just wanted to announce the start up of Canadianbodybuilding radio.com. We have a banner up here now, and are very excited to be up and running.

Mike Macleod, and Steve King asked me to be a part of the project, and I will be hosting the radio show and doing a lot of the interviews for the site.

Steve is doing the actual tech work, so with Mike and I both dieting for Nationals, he has his hands full getting all the bugs out and the site running smooth.

Please check it out and let us know what you want to see and what you like about the initial content, etc.

Our goal is to promote Canadian bodybuilding and help bodybuilders get better exposure. We have some footage up from the ABBA Provincials, as well as some of the WBFF show in Calgary.

The next show we will be covering is the CBBF Nationals in Vancouver, Aug 22. Steve will be doing most of the work there, LOL.

Our first radio show should be up within a week, and the first guest is a good one.....Canada's own Fouad Abiad.

Looking forward to growing and spreading the coverage across the country, helping Canadian Bodybuilding to gain more exposure.

Thanks to Musclphreak for all the support. Since this is Canada's best forum, we wanted to start things off here.

Cheers
Ron Partlow

Hi Ron, glad to meet you. You picked a perfect site to launch on as we are the biggest forum in Canada. I love that you are working with MP on this as he's been working hard to give us a great site and you can now cover the radio/video part.

Wish you guys the best of luck on your project. You should constantly drop by and announce your shows. It'll be a great way to remind us :)

Things are really picking up in Canada. Very proud of what's happening right now.

Thanks a lot. We are excited about the project, and it is already coming together and getting better everyday. Make sure you go check out the videos, as we will be adding more all the time.

Really steep learning curve. Tonight, Steve and I figured out how to fix the aspect ratio on the vids so we don't look tall and skinny! LOL.

I'm fliming an arm workout tomorrow, so that should be finished and up by the weekend.

Cheers
Ron

watched the vid with paul dilett last night... great stuff!!

If you guys have time you should look at what sort of inscentives the government provides for Canadian created/produced media. I know CNDn magazines and radio stations get treated very well, not sure about online but its worth a shot :).

looking forward to more CanCon bodybuilding!!

congrats Ron.

its about time someone took a true stand and p[ushed this sport in canada. unlike what our CBBF does. which is dick all for competitors and peaking peoples interest.

on a side not guys, Ron has to be one of the nicest guys i have ever met in this sport. he truely cares, and thats a hard quality to find these days. as this industry is full of two bit sleeze bags

cant wait to listen to and help promote this radio show.

Once again, thanks for the positive feedback everyone. We are going to do our best to get more attention for everyone in Canada.

We are interviewing Fouad tonight, so I figured I toss this out for you guys......

Anything you want us to ask him? Obviously about sensible topics, of course.

Question: Since bbíng is your job thus you don't go to work like most people how do you deal with sitting around home starving and not going crazy? It can't be difficult to have nothing but time on your hands when you are hungry yet can't eat...

What motivated you to start bodybuilding/weight lifting?
What are your short and long term goals as a bodybuilder?
Favourite exercise, favourite body part to train.
What do you think can/should be done to improve bodybuilding in Canada?
What advice would you have for someone starting out in bodybuilding?

Most of the other questions I can think of are probably too in depth.

Will you give www.canadabodybuilding.com a plug on your show? That would be super cool!!!

Hey Everyone. Thanks for the positive feedback. We've been getting alot of positive feedback about the site, so hopefully we are heading in the right direction. As Ron mentioned, Fouad will be our first guest. This will likely air next Tuesday or Wednesday.

Just to update you on upcoming footage, Yesterday I taped Ron doing an arm workout and we did the voice over today. I will post this up on the weekend. We talk about what Ron eats to maintain a whopping 330lbs! and he also weighs in on contest dieting, sodium, and supplements! AND... he hits a few poses, so you can get a sneak peek at 5.5 weeks out, and let the weight rumers and gossip begin! lol

Tomorrow I will have the pleasure of taping the beautiful IFBB Figure Pro Jamie Senuk, and her georgus friend, up and coming heavyweight Bodybuilder Cheryl Roenberger. This will be a good one boys! This should be up on the weekend as well.

Finally, we want you to contact me about getting some video up on the site! Obviously, we can't travel acro the country to tape people, o shoot me an email saying you'd maybe like to be on the webite, and we will chat!
Email steve@canadianbodybuildingradio.com

Thanks,
Steve

It seems to be talking on a life of it's own. I HAVE to give Steve and Mike a big thanks for asking me to be part of the project. it has really been exciting and I am starting to see the possibilities opening up for all sorts of projects down the line.

I've always been a "stay covered, lay low" type bodybuilder, even after winning the Supers in 07. I decided this year, after being asked to join the team, that I should just try to have more FUN with everything bodybuilding......so we taped a few workouts, and a bunch of interviews, and it's too late now to turn back, lol.

Also, talked to IFBB Troy Brown and his training partner Rob Chalifoux at the gym today. Rob's getting ready for the heavys at Nationals and looking freaky. We are going to tape them training soon and get it up on the site as well.

We are lining up some great guests as well, and have a few that are going to really surprise people.

Lots going on at CBBR......more to come!
Ron

Stay covered, lay low is normally the way to go, but its my belief that one has to market themselves in this sport. There are a lot of opportunities that lie ahead for someone with your pedigree. You have worked hard to get to where you are, its now time to let that hard work work for you now.
You've pretty much established yourself as one of the premiere trainers in the province... now see what else the sport has in store for you brother.

Thanks a lot Logicborn. I can't imagine working in any other industry other than the fitness/bodybuilding industry. It's been my life for 18 years and pretty much given me everything I have. Just looking for new ways to enjoy it and promote it. Bodybuilding is getting a really bad rap lately, and we need to stand up and be proud of what it is supposed to be about. We should be proud to be bodybuilders.

Great show guys, but no offense Mike and Steve are way too quiet, Ron is doing a great job, but you need some more characters on the show. CBBR needs its own wack pack.

Hey Everyone,

We have 2009 National Overall Mens Champion, Mike Van Wyck coming back on the show this week to let us know how the first few months as a pro have been and what he's been up to. He's a big, strong, ****er, so tune in for some tips.

Cheers
