Can you eat too much protein in one sitting? I just ate 20 oz. of calf liver. It was delicious so I made a pig of myself...anyhow, I just realized I ate over 100 grams of protein for supper alone!
Is this too much or does it really make a difference? I did have a good arm workout so I think it went to good use in the end.
How much have you guys eaten in a single sitting?

I have easly consumed 100 grams at one meal. Not often mind you, but like you said, sometimes you just can't help but make a pig of yourself.

there times when ive consumed 200 grams at one sitting its kinda waste but i wanted to splurge and instead of splurging on shit food i always splurge on like chicken breast :P just try not to do it too much cause i doubt your body can absorb all that protein in one sitting.

yupp, like you said, you made a pig of yourself. would of been wiser to divide it in two.

Not something you want to do on a regular basis as I doubt its going to be used very well, but then again we all have different demands. But 100g protein for even the largest of men at one sitting is a bit on the high side. Probably pretty easy to do if at all you can eat sushi if you pound back the sashimi and nigiri like I do when I go, but I know for a fact I shit most of that out not too long after its consumed.

Its shit out because your body is being introduced to a new source and can't handle it right away. If you were to subsist on it, after a few days you won't back jet it in 20 mins.

Who's to say....thats like saying all cars burns a liter of fuel every 20kms traveled. Too many variables to be exact.

Too many variables. Although what I think a lot of people are missing is the time it takes for your body to break stuff down. It's not like if you eat a 16oz steak that you break it down and absorb it in 30-60 minutes. It takes a while.
digestive enzymes with every big meal FTW.
I can eat like a super pig and not gain any fat.
If i eat a huge carb meal i take two capsules. Seriously, one of the most underrated supplements.

That`s what Dr Scott Conelly would have you believe. I can bullshit on that claim. Go with the anecdotal evidence of 1-2 grams per pound of bodyweight that is supported by most. 20-25 grams every 2-3 hours is really not much.

Yes you can consume too much protein in one sitting. Yoru body can only readily digest a limited amount...if you over do it the rest is just extra calories. As well the body does grow on an optimum amount of protein (relative to lean body mass) too much does hamper the bodies ability to build muscle.
1.5g pro per lb is sufficient per day spread over 6-7 meals.
