Hundreds of Hells Angels are about to converge on Kelowna and the RCMP say they're ready for them.

"The public will likely see an influx of about 200 Hells Angels to partake in what Kelowna has to offer," says Sergeant Ann Brinnen. "They'll be having a couple of social events on Friday night and carrying over into Saturday when we expect they will be seen in our nightclubs and restaurants."

RCMP say that several businesses have banded together to send the Angels a message that they're not welcome in their establishments.

"Several businesses in the Kelowna entertainment district have adopted a dress-code policy whereby they're not allowing gang colours, patches, or anything along that line, to be present in their establishments. It's an initiative that we obviously support and if the businesses need our assistance, we will certainly be prepared to do that."

Brinnen admits that asking a biker to remove his colours can be intimidating, but Hells Angels spokesman, Rick Ciarniello, says they're not about intimidation.

"We don't wear colours to intimidate anybody. I don't recall any time that we've gone to Kelowna, where we've established a chapter, that anyone has been intimidated by our presence."

He says the 'no-colours' policy is discriminatory.

"You've now established in your area a clothing police and they're (RCMP) probably going to put pressure on businesses to not serve us. The problem is, where do you draw the line? They want everybody to have a good time in Kelowna except for people who drive motorcycles."

And Ciarniello ads that compliance might be a problem.

"I don't remove my colours for anybody. It's a freedom of expression. It's my right to express myself by the way I dress."

Sorry I gave all my support to the Malvern Crew in Toronto. I don't know though, their murders and stray bullets hitting little kids have been slowing down lately so I might just throw my support behind 81 next year.

Personally I have no issue at all with bikers. I have biker friends (a little "rough around the edges" maybe, but all good people) and would love to own a Harley some day myself.....

But I'm not a fan of biker gangs. Some individuals can be nice guys, but there are a lot of cut throat killers among their ranks as well. I don't think society has any place for those types (violent thugs). Just my 2cents.

I posted a news story about business owners not alowing bikers in there place of business while they are wearing gang colours. Just was interested in what people thought about 200+ hells angels coming to thier town and wearing thier colours to clubs and restaurants and stuff. HOW in the **** could this possibly attract unwanted attention? PLEASE explain!

I remeber one HA affiliate walked into the gym (he owned it btw) with a duffel bag full of Winny 50cc vials. He's dead now so I probably could even mention his name bu I like to sleep soundly at night.

In fact one particuliar nasty dt Strip joint that is clearly owned and run by them don't allow patches or colors. Even their own. Cops have a hard on for these guys and hate it when they fly the colors.

When these guys come to my town they take the bar over, and nobody stops them from wearing there colors. All they do is come into a town drop a fat amount of cash in the local businesses and **** all our young hot girls there cool in my books, it's the gangs under them that are the ruthless ones. I don't have issues with house cleaning, but you have to admit it was not smart to leave the bodies so easy to find. At least they didn't have the old style shoot outs with bystanders around. Leave that style to the "thugs".

The only reason bodies haven't shown up is because the OPP / RCMP/ Toronto is so far up their asses that they can tell you what they ate. Still lot's of unsettled business.

I'm a big dude, I've been in scraps and all that... but I crapped my pants a few years ago when I was sitting at a strip club in Sudbury, I'd heard owned by HA, and a biker came up and started accusing my friend of being some guy that owed him money...

There's tough... then there's getting shot or hit in the head with a pipe, these dudes are nuts, and the only way to be on their level is to be ready to go to jail or die... since I'm not ready to do either of these things... I just stay out of the way.

Lots of crazy HA stories from a few years in Sudbury actually... bikers just scare me now

Shit when i was a kid i would go up to bikers at Loblaws and talk to them about there Bikes Outlaws back in the day,now they can't were there patch in this city.All they did say was stay in school and don't become a biker.All of them very cool to me,even now i had on guy at my work that was full patch great guy ha,he worked hard at work.

Buisnesses in Kelowna (my home town!!) are free to cater to who they wish. Any privately owned business is free to refuse service to anyone they want.

May not work as well to try and ban turbans but....probably worth a shot?

If you (or the HA) dont like the businesses instituting a dress code then they can go elsewhere and spend money in other places.
