The cop showed his true side when he simply walked away from the incident. People like this make my blood boil.

Leaving the scene of a crime is against the law. Charges need to be laid just as if it would have been a normal civilian. Keep us posted. Curious to see if there are special rules just for law enforcement. License to kill.

He must have gave the dog a really good boot to kill it in 30 seconds. To kick a dog, kill it and walk away is inhuman.

Karma's a bitch, he will get what is coming to him.

YOu guys are funny

What if the dog did in fact attack his??? I would ****ing PUNT any free roaming animal that attacks my pet or child. Not even one second of hesitation.

Trust me... I am an animal rights advocate too... militant.

This problem lies with the neighbor whose dog was running free

^^^^If I punted every animal that dared cross my path there would be a lot of carnage. Mistakes happen. Using cop logic....if he had nothing to hide why leave.

I have tried to kick a dog that had its mouth around the neck of mine while it was lying on its back. I can tell you that when a dog is in that heightened state it is highly unlikely you would get a kick off that would do that kind of damage. It is more likely that the dogs were greeting each other and the guy punted it out of nowhere.

well thats good you assume that since you were not there and are only hearing one side of the story, your just jumping all over this because it was a police officer and you have some personal vendetta, you wouldnt have even posted this if its was a lets say electrician or car salesman, get a life.

Tell ya what,I'll wear my super heavy duty construction boots while walking my dogs at the park and just give any dog that comes up for a sniff a really good boot.Take out all my frustrations in life on some little animal.

You guys that are harping at waderow need to read better. The dude said attack, not randomly walk by.

So if a RANDOM dog was ATTACKING your child or dog you would stand there and watch?

The difference is that an electrician does not demand respect simply because of his job title. Respect will be given when it is earned not simply because you have a shiny badge. Maybe if the cop did not leave the scene we would have more info from him.

P.S. I have a life, a great one at that.

The paper made no mention of any "attack" being reported.Nor of any trip to the vet for repairs. No children involved,or vicious breed of dog.

and I guess everybody missed in the article where it says his dog was bit twice before he kicked the the dog, so what's the problem I would have punted the ****er as well if he bit my dog twice.

get real.

It was in the report the dog attacked the other while off leash, on the guys property no less.
Attack is different from sniff

1) Dog off its leash.
2) Dog approaching others on their property.
3) 2 bites by the offending dog.

How much clearer does this have to be? While leaving the scene was douchy, I really dont think the guy did anything but defend his own dog.

The investigation will have to determine if the cop acted inappropriately. All I have to say is this. NO DOG SHOULD EVER BE OFF A LEASH IN A CITY UNLESS IN A DESIGNATED AREA. There should be laws to enforce this.

The other thing is if the cop killed the dog by the kick, he should have NEVER left the scene. That was very irresponsible. Don't know if it's criminal but in his line of work, he should know better.

so if this dog owned by the cop was bit, where is the forth coming proof? When I had 2 dogs, if they were play fighting they left marks on each other. I don't think the other dog was attacked, as the cop just booked, he probably realised what he did was wrong and left before he could be found easily.

If he has a dog, hes likely a dog lover. Dog lovers, like all of you are disgusted with cruelty to dogs, but will go 0-60 in 3.7 should their baby be attacked....

Logically the cop acted appropriately too a situation that required action. It is a stretch that he is a mean sadistic dog killer who goes out of his way to kill neighborhood dogs while nurturing his own.
