Any of you guys had problems buying some insulin without a script? Can they asked some questions? And how much cost humalog in Canada?

Log costs about $35 for a vial and all I did was ask them for a vial and some syringes and should be no problem. Some stores might be a pain but then just walk down the block to the next one.

Yes, of course. Injection than 3 scoops of whey and 100g of carbs(dex)

1.5h later: High carbs, high proteins, zero-super low fat meal

2h later: High carbs, high proteins, zero-super low fat meal.

looks good, how much IU you taking? 10 I presume, if you are going by the 10g/iu rule. You could probably tweak it a little to see how much you need. I find 6-7g dex/iu works best for me.

thanks for the reply! It's my first time with slin. So I will begin with 2-3iu and working my way up to 10iu

I would suggest that you include fat in your 2nd post workout feeding. Doesn't have to be much but ensure you don't fall trap to the no fat craze.

My advice is to also keep some dextrose tabs on handy.

don't you need a special receipt though? I just got a normal receipt for my slin unlike the official looking ones for when one has a script.

Slin is OTC because it is one of those drugs that is life and death and is usually not abused but individuals.

i don't use benifits to pay for it for personal resons, but know guys that do and they are not diabetics. Most benifit packages pay 100% for all diabetic supplies

Ya...just a matter of convincing your doctor that your diabetic so he can write you a prescription for it....not sure you would do that though?

The use of Insulin for bodybuilding purposes
There are a few types of insulin available to the public, these I feel are the only ones that apply for our needs.
Humalin R*, Duration ~10-12 hours, peaks at 3rd hour until the 5th hour
Humalog* Duration ~6 hours, peaks at 80min to 120 min.
Nolvalog, Just a different maker of a fast acting insulin, same times as humalog.
Few notes, Duration is the amount of time the chemical is active.
Peak time, is the time in which you have the highest level of the chemical in the blood (2)

*This is for subcutaneous (subc, or subq) injections... we as body builders do not use insulin this way. We should and need to shoot intramuscularly (IM) see below.

Knowing what you know about the duration and peak times of humalog shot subcutaneous. Below is a graph to represent how humalog shot IM affects the blood glucose levels.

T= -5 is post w/o before insulin
T=0 is 10IU Humalog IM into left bicep
T= 5 is BG prior to my ingesting 85g of dextrose, 5g of glutamine and 7g of creatine
T=35 is BG prior to ingesting 80g of whey
T=105 is BG prior to 25g of dextrose and 150g of chicken breasts
After 150min past an IM Humalog injection, the BG remains stable"

IM is dumb as the slin will get absorbed quicker and put you into a state of hypoclycemia much quicker.

I have only used slin with GH and IGF-1 and I follow GK's protocol with GH and IGF-1 immediately PWO, and then 15 minutes later I pin log sub q.

Read GK's stuff, but I personally stay away from that board now. No good visiting a place the LE is bound to be hanging out all the time.

10 grams of carbs per IU of slin is a good idea as it is playin it safe, and Log is probably the best for a novice.
My advice is only use slin if you have a good 4 hours that you can plan your day around it. I only use it when I know I have no commitments because I focus most of my time cooking, eating, and cleaning up after I pin.
