It`s all about your mind set. I quit smoking weed about a year ago because I was sick of it, and said it`s enough. It`s hard to explain. I simply had enough. Being dependant on that crap was a big set back for me. I couldn`t sleep without it. Your mind is alot more powerfull than the patch or ziban, if you really want to quit, you can. Everyone I know who quit for good never used any aids, it was just "I`m quiting, I`m done..." Hope this makes sense and helps you out.

Thats the key, "its easy if you are ready and really want to". I've been battleing this for 35 years. My problem is i like smokeing, i know its bad, expensive, smelly and all that. At least i'm not smokeing cig's, i've taken a likeing to captain blacks.

Good luck tho bro, i mean that.

Hook up with a nice looking girl who does not smoke, then move in with her into her nice non-smoking house, tell her you are quitting for her, then enjoy all the hot nasty sex until your addiction is gone.
That is how I did it.
I also quit drinking for about 4 months, which was also essential.
9.5 years now since I quit.

It's been about 7 or 8 years since I quit. I was a 20+ year smoker.

You have to decide you're going to quit. I dabbled with quitting many times. It takes willpower to get yourself through the first 12 weeks but it takes commitment to stay quit when stressful situations arise.

Shockingly after a few years you will get to the point where your brain will unwire itself from thinking that the smell of tobacco is good and the taste is better. I thought for a long time that my brain was permanently wired for tobacco but at some point it started to smell bad.

The physical addiction will subside in the first 3-4 months. The brains wiring takes much longer to sort out. You may very well have to change your behaviours and or your environment to get yourself clear of the first 6 months or so. Happily the fitness life style is conducive and bars and restauraunts are now non smoking.

Cold turkey is the only way that worked for me. First 4 days, just eat, re-eat & sleep.

Been 5 years now.

might sound silly but try sugar free popsicles instead... it will help with the oral fixation. Just dont get hooked on popsicles!!

Cold turkey is the best way to do it. Like the others already said you have to be ready to quit to acomplish it. I tried a few times befor I really started to hate the habit and failed. Once I was ready I went cold turkey, and yes it was brutally hard for the first month then it got a little easier and after the third month it got alot easier. The urge never really left till about a year later though. It is tough but well worth the effort. That was about 7 ears ago now. Good luck.

As has been stated it all comes down to the mindset. You can use different crutches to help along the way but you need to want to quit. I quit cold turkey.

I'm sure Massmachine could give you something roughly the same size to put in your mouth. Trust me, you'll NEVER smoke again!

There is some commercial right now of some mint that is 2 times more helpful to quit smoking... will report back next time I see it.

But keep Massmachine in mind though!!!

slightly more effective than zyban but still has psychological side effects. Like the others said, the aids can help but you have to be determined to quit.

Stay away from people who smoke! If you see it you will want it.
Go for a run with your dog every day at 5am

This is so true. I fail with my plan because of this. Crappy thing is I have been sober for a year but still smoke half a pack a day.
