Ok so my dad today asked me about steroids. A fairly awkward conversation to say the least. I don't use but have been thinking about it for a while just haven't gone there yet.
long story short, mom and dad seperated, dad wants to get back in shape.
He is working out nearly everyday and already lost about 6 inches around the waist.
So what advise would you give to a man who is 63 and wants to start using steroids. What kind of cycle?
I have already told him diet is of utmost essence, but he already has that pretty solid.

I think a lose dose HTR test would be fine lol Unless who wants to be Ramboo, then some GH to boot :)

1. Could try and get dr to put him on HRT.
2. 200-250mgs of test a week, and he'll feel amazing.

yea i figure he wouldn't need too much. He is concerned about his test going away after the cycle though. I told him he is 63 and his test level are probably near non-existant anyway and when on it he will be like a horny boy again but you know the news and articles so he thinks it will make his body stop producing test altogether.

I know that I would be doing HGH at that age and I dont see anything wrong with 250 to 500mg test C a week for him. But IMHO he should talk to the doctor..right?

And by doctor I mean HRT doctor

Ok, well I will suggest to him to see this endocrinologist first. And from the results of that I guess he will get his answer! if not, test it will be haha. Thanks guys

Bingo.
When I'm that age I'll be taking test for life.
Mind you, by then, almost all males will be as well.

Keep in mind the endocrinologist will most likely put him on test at a dose that is next to useless. Just saying, when he does go there go in with both eyes open. I went on HRT on my own, i do go in to the doc once a year for the usual prostate and some blood work. But for the most part HRT isn't rocket science. Trust me, it will be a life changeing decision when he does make the move.

HRT for sure. He can always supplement if needed. Maybe Solo can chime in. He is the old fart....I mean elder statesman around here.

HGH, and either boldenone or nandrolone on top of a test dose.
He will need the bold or nand for injury reduction in my opinion

He just wants a little 'kick', not compete....

I was put on a useless dose of test but the good thing you have a doc involved so you get regular test and check ups and its easy enough to supplement the dose. Best thing that happen to me.

Like everyone mentioned, he is a perfect candidate for HRT. Get him to an endo, blood test and complete physical ASAP:D

He should also pick up a copy of his Health Plan at the HR office where he works.

Many do not cover HRT treatments or Viagra type sups.

Not much to add. You youngsters seem to give excellent advice. Tell your old man his testosterone levels are not much worth saving anyway. Tell him to read Testosterone for Life (http://www.amazon.ca/Testosterone-Life-Recharge-Vitality-Overall/dp/0071494804/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1247033439&sr=1-1), even though it's just a vanilla beginner's guide.

Yes, see an endocrinologist. Yes, insist on more testosterone then will be first prescribed. Yes, use GH, by all means. Yes, Test alone is plenty, and 250 mg per week will indeed work wonders. Yes, Cialis is good for the prostate and the blood pressure. Tell him to work out, eat right, and think dirty. He'll soon be a new man.

OK so follow up to the deal. My dad went to the doctor. His test levels were at 7 or something which is considered low i gather. Now the doctor prescribed him Androgel its a testosterone USP 1% gel, and you rub it all over your body. 5g per pack.

anyone heard of it and know what it would be equivilant too? its 150$ for a month supply so is it worth it? or should he go down the test c 200 mg/week route.

Androgel is helpful. Only a dab will do ya. It's DHT based, however, so it's hard on the prostate & hair. I presume your dad has a medical plan that will reimburse him at least some of that $150. If not, why you might as well go underground & get more for your money. Hope he's not afeard of needles.

hmm, being hard on the prostate for a man in his 60's, would that run the risk of increased prostate cancer?

RagingRandy

Test will not increase your chance of prostrate cancer, nor is it hard on a healthy prostrate. However, test will aggravate prostrate problems. This is info from my HRT doc. He has me go for full blood test twice a year which includes a test for the prostate.

My doc gave me a choice between the gel and injections. I told him I had no issues with going to a clinic to get the injections so he wrote me a script for Test E.
