Hey guys,

Just a question about a problem ive started experiencing for about 2 weeks now.

About 2 weeks ago i did a routine chest day.

Flat bench, Decline Bench, Incline dumbell press, Wide grip dips.

Average weight for myself. was able to get 8-10 reps with each exercise.

went home, felt great. About 4 days later i woke up in the morning and felt as if someone had been sitting on my chest all night (super tight chest)

one day later pain was still there. Went to my doctor and he checked me out. Told me i wasn't doing good enough chest stretches before and after my workouts. He gave me some stretches and sent me home.

Two days later I felt fine again. No chest tightness or pain at all. i did my stretches, went back to the gym for another chest day. I did slightly more than normal weight but managed to get at least 3 sets of 10 reps for each exercise. Felt great, went home, the very next day i felt that same tightness and pain as before. Sort of a tightness in my lower chest/ upper abdominals and a slight tightness in my upper back.

Now im stuck and have no idea how to handle this. I mean, ive felt chest pain from workouts before but this is so bad i can barely get in and out of my car without moaning and groaning. And it always seems to be the worst as soon as i wake up.

Just wondering if anyone has experienced this aswell??

Sorry about the novel i had to write to explain this.

Thanks guys.

Bro do your streching and find a good deep tissue massage therapist and not he type with a happy ending lol. I get a total deep tissue massage once a month for a 2 hr sesion does wonders. My 2 cents

Did you ever consider muscle imbalances?

When I was 17 and started training, I probably did 1 back set for every 3 chest sets. I got wicked pains in my chest where it would hurt to breathe deeply like I had broken ribs, and tightness where I couldn't move my arms backward without pain (like the bottom part of a DB fly).
The Dr. suggested I stop training chest for a while, and only train back. Instead, I just did 2 back exercises for every chest exercise, and it took care of the problem.

I was getting chest pains on my left side for awhile,, I thought it was my heart,, doc says I'm paranoid but sent me for an ECG stress test, so far so good,,, my doc thinks its from anxiety attacks that i get from taking NO-explode an pushing heavy sets , or just too much caffein .
