I'm trying to filter some ethyl olate based fina. I had filtered cotton seed based fina before without issues. This time tho the ethyl olate is damn hard to push thru a 45 micron whatman... And I have 120ml to filter...

not sure why you are haveing trouble.... or why you went with EO based...that shit will eat the rubber plunger, in the syringe,
but that aside im sure you know to use PVDF filter and not nylon, as it will eat it.
if it is very dirty(from pellets) you may need to change filters every 20-40mls, if its a clean powder source, and you have not clogged the filter, i just heat the oil in a water bath on the stove top, draw in to a 60cc syringe and use a caulking gun,
it will slow as the oil cools, and filter becomes dirty, but this should solve your problem...hope it helps

.45 filters are not good enough. Use .22 to sterilize.
.45 to pre filter then .22 to sterilize.

not sure where you got this, but .45 for oil/EO and .22 for water based is standard

Actually its .22 for both. GMP standard is a .22 or less filter.

the Filter pore size should stay constant because you are in effect attempting to remove bacteria. Whether the bacteria is in oil or water doesn't change it's diameter.
