Hello all,

Figure I better put my first post in the beginner's forum.

I've cut ALOT of the bad stuff out of my diet and I'm eating what I think is a very healthy diet... however I still don't see drastic changes (yes I'm doing the empty stomach swim or incline walk in the morning as well as 45min walk after lifting in the afternoon - 900cal!).

I'm pretty sure my problem is portion size. I love to eat. So even if all I eat is brown rice and chicken / fish.. I know I'm eating too much. So my question is: can anyone point me to some quality info on carb content and portion sizing? How am I supposed to know how many calories was in my lunch today? (brown rice, cauliflower, hot sauce and a 120cal protein shake).

If anybody can point me in the right direction, I can build a spread sheet with my common foods and calculate my daily intake, even break it down to components.. just need reliable info.

Thanks for reading my ramblings!

Dirty.

I like this site:

http://www.nutritiondata.com/facts/cereal-grains-and-pasta/5710/2

Shows alot of really good info on the items.

Calculate your BMR to find your daily caloric requirements and adjust your diet so that you're eating roughly 500 calories less than that a day. Exercise and burn an additional 500 calories a day and you'll lose roughly 2lbs a week.

For faster more drastic fat loss i'd highly recommend a keto style diet. Dave P's keto diet has been posted on here alot, and it worked really well for me..

Welcome to the site btw :)
