The ottawa show should be interesting as I've heard they only have 1 class for bodybuilding. I am still on the fence as to whether that will be a good thing or not.

Assuming this show goes on and that the level of interest in the show is the same regardless of the whole cbbf ontario division thing, what are your thoughts on combining all classes into 1?

What do you guys think of having about 20 or so guys in 1 class ranging in weights? I think it will give the judges a hard time. Its way harder judging large classes, and I know this first hand. And its way harder judging classes where everyone has different shapes. Think of how much harder it is to judge a large class where everyone is different shapes AND sizes.

I myself will compete in the show because its local and my wife is competing and I wanted to compete with her since we never have yet (together).

I have been in a few shows where us fbbs were grouped. I will not do it again.

Unless your conditioning is as ripped as hell, the bigger guy unripped does not stand a chance.

Where have you seen this information? I was on the ottawa bodybuilding website and all I saw was an interview section talking about this new setup and why it exists. Basically it is due to the small turnout per class and that basically it is too easy to be a "winner" / top 3.

I thought it meant both level 1 and 2 would be like this. I'd rather combine weight classes then have height classes though.

So what are all your thoughts on combining classes? Regardless of what show your at.

You're right, female bodybuilders have had this done for years considering there are less classes to begin with. Again, it has to do with the number of competitors.

What did you mean by "Unless your conditioning is as ripped as hell, the bigger guy unripped does not stand a chance." ?

In the end I really think that the decision to do this will not be popular amongst the competitors.

I guess the majority don't like it. That's what I thought when I first heard about it. I don't like it either.

The interview about the decision makes it out to be the best thing ever and that it should always be done this way etc. I think its fine if you're talking about guys who range from 225 to 280. But a 140 pound dude can't really stand next to a 200 pound dude unless he's 4'4 and ripped to the bone, and the 200 pound dude just sucks.
