Ok, I've talked and talked about this so I'll finally do a write up.

What you will need:

WD TV HD 1080P Media Player (http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/searchtools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=4366418&SRCCODE=PRICECAN&cm_mmc_o=2mHCjCVybgw2zEzpzCjCVqHCjCdwwp)

A 500 GB external hard drive

A TV that has 720p or 1080p HDMI input.

A torrent site that has .mkv files.

Ok. Here we go!!!

Down load your .mkv videos which are HD quality, put them on your external hard drive and hook it up to the WD TV HD Media player. This media player plays all video formats. It's the best thing you will ever buy!!

I myself use www.PreToMe.net I hear it may be an open reg right now. Demonoid sucks compared to this site!!

Any questions, ask and I shall answer!!!

Good luck getting high speed download on torrents. Usenet is faster (unless you are using mlppp to bypass throttling on torrents)

I used to use my xbox360 to play divx movies off of my harddrives but the WD TV HD 1080p looks very promising and I think I am going to buy it. Good writeup Richter I would give you some rep for this one but I havent figured out how to yet lol.

Scubadiver, the site I'm speaking of uses seedboxes so they are pretty fast. The best I've got so far is 1.8mb a second download. Shaw is so fully of shit... 10mbps my ass!

Daande, please report back how you like the gizmo. It will give a chance for other members to know how awesome it is.

Make sure you have your drive formatted to NTFS if you are going to be downloading high def movies that are over 4GB. I just set mine up and downloaded my first bluray it its working flawlessly amazing!

Shithead... you got one? AWESOME!! If you wouldn't mind, can you do a small write up here how you like it... the pro's and con's .... I personally think this is the next best thing to sliced bread! Perhaps another brother who has it might help make up their minds about this purchase....

Thanks...

It works great, I bought the Western Digital 'My Passport' 500g external to use with it.

It will play movies, photos and music. It has an RCA video output, Optical sound output, HDMI output and two USB inputs for either CPU or external.

When using this with HD movies its best to use a small usb cord as the longer the cord more data is lost.

Only downside to keep in mind is that even though it will play almost an form of video file it will NOT play DTS and DTS ES audio. My amp has a codec for these so its no biggee but just a heads up.
