Recently I have really be having problems staying asleep. It often took me hours to get to sleep and once asleep I was constantly waking up. I tripped over the solution. About a week ago I actually got a decent nights sleep. I then realized I had forgotten to take my multivitamins, which I take morning and night. I have not been taking them for over a week now and my sleep is getting progressively better. I used to take the Progressive brand but switched to ON a few months back. I believe this is when I started having problems. I am not sure if the ON causes the issue or simply aggravates an underlying issue. But I am better off without them. Yet another reason to keep a detailed log. I will have to dig out the ingredient list for both brands and see what the offending ingredient is.

Great, I think i'm going to try this theory and just take my multi etc. in the morning and see if it improves the quality of my sleep. Anything for a better nights sleep.

well obviously if you take a good multi before bed, you shouldnt be able to sleep. anything with a good B complex is gonna keep you awake. so actually your multi was working, you should of just taken one in the morning and one in the afternoon. people make me laugh.

^^^^That is good to know. I think everyone I have ever asked tells me they take multis morning and night, 12 hour spread. Does B complex build up in the body so that you could have too much? The reason I ask is that my sleep is still getting progressively better.

no, its water soluble. fat solubles are the ones that build up.

That is what is making me think it is not the B complex. I am not saying what you state is wrong. It just does not seem to apply in my case.

Yea i really have to watch when i inject B complex it gives me wayyy to much energy and im up 4-6 hours later then i usually would be.

calcium / magnesium caps or tabs help me sleep big time. look into taking one of those right before bed dude, it might give you excellent sleeps.

the supplement shop has little herbal pills called melatonin you put under your toungue before bed.. people swear by them..really cheap to like 10 bucks a bottle..

yeah, and they suck. if you take melatonin your body will stop producing it naturally, so youll have to take more and more. you should be taking the pre-cursor to melatonin.

yepp. Thats why its habit forming. You start off with a giant ammount because you have what your body produces, plus what youre taking. but gradually your body starts to produce less and less so you have to take more and more to get the same effect.

Hmm, maybe this explains my recent sleep problems.. ran out of multis a week or so ago. Noticed alot more leg cramps too. I'll test this out!!

yeah, and they suck. if you take melatonin your body will stop producing it naturally, so youll have to take more and more. you should be taking the pre-cursor to melatonin.
innacurate. sorry bro, but using 3mg of melatonin wont shut down your natural production at all.
its not a product i recommend taking permanently but it will help you if you cycle it on and off for a few weeks at a tie.
melatonin begins to produce when your eyes are not exposed to light (as in laying down in your bed in a dark room). This is why it is very important not to watch tv while in bed or right before bed. If you want to read before bed use as dim a light as possible as to allow some melatonin production before you pass out.
