What's the best?? I'm sick of buying natty P Butter and I end up wearing half of it because it runs all over. Is there such as a healthy peanut butter that is thick without mixing it and keeping it in the fridge. I eat that Kraft light now but I know it's not healthy.
Can somebody help a Peanut Butter junkie out:confused:

I have no idea, but i know what you're saying about the runny PB, especially on a warm bagel. The shit drips off like oil.

Why isn't it healthy? I eat the Kraft too, and I've compared the nutritional info between that and the natural and there isn't much difference.

That's what I was thinkig but the hydrogenated oil thing through me off especially since I use so much I need a trowel not a knife.,
You can get the natural peanut butter,no oil or sugar added, plus there is fiber in it.

what about the trans fatty acids found in most shelf brand PB's? I worry more about that crap then how many calories in my natty, or the fact that it slops off my bread.

safeway has a just peanut, pb house brand called old fashioned. Also Presidents choice makes an organic natty as well as a natyy pb in their housebrands. I find them cheaper then buying from a health food store.

Adams, you can get salt free version too if you like.
I love the PC Organic one. It's sodium-free.

Its the hydrogenation that both makes the oils solid at room temperature and generates trans fats. I find mixing the natural peanut butter up good when I first get it, so that the oil is mixed in thoroughly, then storing it in the fridge really helps. Or if you don't want to refrigerate it, you can store the jar upside down. I think I like it runny actually. Its the pure oil and the top and the concrete at the bottom that I try to avoid. I don't worry about the salt, that makes it taste a lot better to me.

I know it's quoting from over 3 months ago, but the thread is still current! :p They sell the same jug at the cosco here for $8.99! I'm pissed, I want my 2 bucks back! lol
I've heard almond butter is not nearly as good for you as natural pb. Anybody shed some light?
THIS is the stuff to get YUM

There's no massive difference between the all natural peanut butter brands and the generic KRAFT/Skippy/etc. type brands other than they use a moderate amount of sugar in the making of the product. Unless you're trying to detox or something I wouldn't worry about buying the all-natural stuff.
If you insist on higher quality, go with Cashew or Almond butter. It's less runny and much better tasting.

The President's Choice "Just Peanuts" has always been my favourite. Has a great consistancy.

I don't understand when people complain about having to stir natural PB and keep it in the fridge. it takes, what.....5minutes when you first open it, then it's done as long as you keep in cool. it's SO worth it. I can't even eat the regular stuff anymore, tastes so fake. Plus, I like my PB without hydrogenated oil and icing sugar in it.
If it's the mess you make that bugs you, try stiring it with a slim knife, or spoon handle. Works better than trying to use a spoon or something.
