Road Rage....

I was driving down a double road that was turning into one lane. I was following the rules of the road when two different vehicles went ape shit and started yelling and swearing at me while hanging out their respecting windows... INCLUDING both their female passengers.

Why is road rage such an issue?? Why must someone feel it's appropriate to yell and swear at someone who hasn't broken any laws?
