I know a couple folks got a good laugh out of my Nissan Cube... this car has a little more balls than the Cube... It's a custom ordered vehicle that should be here in 6-8 weeks... black on black with the 13 speaker Kicker Stereo :yeah

The discounts Dodge is offering are unreal... total discount came to about $18,500 off MSRP!

Base Price$38,970 DrivetrainRear Wheel DriveCurb Weight (lbs)4083City (MPG)13Hwy (MPG)19Horsepower425 @ 6200Torque (lb-ft)420 @ 4800Wheelbase (in.)120.0Length (in.)200.1Width (in.)74.5Height (in.)57.7

This all-out performance version of Dodge's already-bold Charger sedan features an AutoStick five-speed automatic transmission, 20-inch alloy wheels with performance tires, sport suspension, dual chrome exhaust pipes, plus aerodynamic body kit with hood scoop and rear spoiler.

But the heart of the car is certainly the 6.1-liter SRT Hemi V8 engine. This powerplant puts out an impressive 425 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 420 pound-feet of torque at 4,800 rpm. The rumbling exhaust note alone gets the adrenaline pumping.

Power is channeled to the rear wheels, accelerating the Charger from zero to 60 miles per hour in under five seconds. The top speed is 165 mph.

Fuel economy reflects this engine's performance characteristics, rating at 14 miles per gallon on the city cycle and 20 on the highway cycle.

The Charger also comes equipped with brake assist, an Electronic Stability Program, four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes and fog lights.

Badges for Charger, SRT8 and Hemi are sprinkled about to show the world just what this performance machine is all about.

Interior comfort and convenience items are well represented, too, with leather seats, a six-speaker Boston Acoustics audio system, cruise control, air conditioning, plus full power amenities (windows, door locks, heated mirrors, front seats).

Other features include a back-seat SIRIUS satellite video system, 20-gigabyte MyGIG infotainment system, plus illuminated cupholders and map pockets.

The Charger is built at the same Brampton, Ontario, Canada factory as the Chrysler 300. Both vehicles share many parts and the same overall proportions. And both come in high-performance versions from Dodge's in-house Street and Racing Technology (SRT) skunkworks.

You got this for 20 grand???? Was that because you paid cash or took financing?

wow, I think I'll look into it. Wonder what offers they have on challenger.

I got this for $18,500 under the MSRP... the price was about 30G's plus options and all the other fees like gas tax, green levy and transport...

There are no incentives on the Challenger... the funny thing is that they are pretty much the same car +/- 20lbs... the MSRP of the Charger is actually more expensive... The Charger is way more practical with 4 doors!

Here's a good article from Car and Driver...

http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/hot_lists/high_performance/features_classic_cars/mid_buck_bargains_30_000_to_40_000_feature__1/2008_dodge_charger_srt8_vs_2008_mercedes_benz_e63_ amg_feature
2008 Dodge Charger SRT8 vs. 2008 Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG
Mid-Buck Bargains: $30,000 to $40,000

2008 Dodge Charger SRT8 vs. 2008 Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG

Can a $37,055 Dodge Charger SRT8 best the Mercedes E63 AMG in any contest born of speed, material, or gravitas? No. It costs, however, about 40 percent as much as the mighty Merc, and a good wheelman or -woman could make up much of the dynamic difference.

Even if it can’t quite keep up with the E63, though, the SRT8 will best most other cars in contests of speed. The Charger’s 370-cubic-inch Hemi produces 425 horsepower, enough for a 4.8-second 0-to-60 run and a top speed of 173 mph, besting the speed-limited AMG by 18 mph. Too bad there’s no American autobahn, but just in case you’ve christened your own, there are ginormous 14.2-inch Brembo brake rotors and four-piston calipers in the front to do battle with momentum.

If the SRT8 is a sharp handler, it’s because this American’s veins run with familiar German blood. Like the Chrysler 300C, it features a chassis lifted from the previous-generation E-class.

As you’d expect of an $86,125 sedan, the E63 AMG is really quite good at everything; technical director Larry Webster declared it “the best Mercedes sports sedan I've ever driven." Much of this has to do with the Benz’s techno-powerhouse 6.2-liter V-8 generating 507 horsepower and 465 pound-feet of torque—that’s 82 more horsepower than the SRT8 with just over 100cc more displacement. The E63’s engine alone, however, would cost 50 percent more than a Charger SRT8 if you bought a new one from your corner Mercedes shop.

You would have to be blind, deaf, without olfactory glands, and sans nerve endings to confuse the interiors of these two cars, but at least the SRT8 features seats with suede inserts to keep your butt planted during high-speed maneuvers. If you’re feeling a little self-conscious about driving a car from the same company that sells the Caliber, the SRT8’s $49,070 price advantage could buy you an aftermarket forced induction system to make up the horsepower differential, an interior upholstered with sheared beaver pelts for incomparable luxury, and all manner of chrome and billet bling to ensure proper valet placement.

All hip-hoppery aside, the Charger SRT8 blesses its user with speed, moves, and comfort far beyond its price tag. We’d drop the extra $50,000 on a down payment for a house, but if you have $86,125 to spend on a car, you probably juggle assets like we drown in debt.

Another good comparison vs the AMG Benz...

Why? Have you ever driven a car with 425HP and 420lb/ft?

The RWD SRT line up is today's equivalent of the 60's muscle cars... with brakes that are as strong as the acceleration of the car... 14.2" Brembos and 20" rims with Eagle F1 Supercar tires (same as the C6 Z06)...

Bang for the buck... nothing even holds a candle to these cars...

If I was in the market for a big SUV, I would be driving an H2 or H1 (if I could find a clean one)...

There is a recent video online of Arnold picking up his brand new Challenger SRT8... and we all know Arnold loves his H1's... I have the same taste in cars as him :a+

Im betting that $1000.00 would make alot more power if you spent it on a good LSD instead.

The only thing not to like about domestics "The Charger also comes equipped with brake assist, an Electronic Stability Program, four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes and fog lights." That and the fact that its pretty much impossible to get a decent manual gearbox these days, if you could get a good 5 speed I would have bought a G8 no question.

For starters, I tried to buy a G8 GT... impossible to get in Canada... I escalated all the way up to GM's corp head office... They do make a GXP version of the G8 that is only available in the US... it comes with a manual 6 speed...

The SRT has an option to disable all the electronic traction gadgets when you are looking to have some fun... I will be driving the car all year round, so I don't mind the traction gadgets...

And the 2009 SRT models do have a brand new upgraded LSD...

As for the LSD nice! I noticed alot of the new chargers I see at the track '07-'08 have trouble hooking up nice to see they decided to address that with the new model year, bet there are gonna be alot of guys with the '07-'08s fishing those LSD's outta junkyards in a few years.
