I'm wondering what are you guys usually drink during working out. Does it depend on what you are doing(buliding mass or cutting)? Usually I have water during working out, but when I'm building mass I usually add some carbs to it. What are your thoughts on it?

All I drink is water during gym time. I save the carbs for pre and post wo. I am curious too.

Building Mass!

add some simple sugars to your water to maintain some glucose ready for your pushes....along with a bcaa to just add to preserving your lbm.....you're then ready to go!

if i'm weight training, water (i have a shake immediately before and after) but if i'm doing hard cardio or playing hockey i use Gatorade and extra salt (i usually use gatorlytes)....i can sweat up to 5g of salt in an hour of hockey!

20g of BCAA's during. Seems to help recovery noticeably, Im alot stronger for my next workout.

Polquin actually recommends minimum 20g up to 40g per workout. I just take 20 cause im cheap :D

Just water here at least 4 litres while I work out.

Why is it you see some people not drinking anything? Wtf? dont they get thirsty?

Nestea's 'Active Orange' powder with about 5grms of L-leucine and about 3grms of BCAA during the workout. The flavour really does a phenomenal job of masking the taste of the aminos.

Nothing but water all year round. Can't have anything else in my stomach or I'll puke. Carb drinks make me sleepy, even if it's just a bit of carbs. I also use a stainless steel water bottle.....makes cold water taste so refreshing.

I tried Biotest surge. Pasty taste but good workouts so far. Lots of amino acids is good for during weight training since it fills your muscle with them and accelerate the repair according to research. We'll see...

Pure water, you if you are training intensely you dont want anything in your stomach or trying to digest anything....it is counter productive...the idea is to have all the blood going to your muscles. Not to mention it takes 72 full hours to get into ketosis...what does this mean...well this means your body has enough glycogen to last 72 hours...

If you really need to...heres and idea...30 min prior to training have a source of aminos ie whey isolate with some carbs...malto/waxy maize and possibly some type of preworkout drink like SuperPump etc...that way it will be in your system prior to training and fully available...not digesting in the middle of your workout.

Just to see how much, I stopped taking for a little over a week, and my performance began to suffer where I couldn`t lift what I was doing while drinking it. If I had the $$$ I`d throw in 20 grams of BCAA in there.

If you were on a keto diet that wouldnt happen...on a low carb diet you lack energy because glycogen is in limited supply.
