You may have seen my reviews of NO Xplode, Superpump 250. Im now trying Insane MG, with NO Shotgun next.
But...
Im starting to wonder. All these products act similar. But the insane pumps, and all that advertising jazz, had me searching. So i started searching and reading. Mostly, just the same stuff over and over about vasodilation and whatever else is in the ads. Then of course all the forum experts parroting what they read. SInce many of the products are arginine bases, with creatine and, caffeine etc. I started wondering if there was really anything to it. After all, proper nutrition (pre and post workout carbs, fat and proteins) is irreplaceable. The NO products are just for the "charge" and "pump".
Then i came across some skeptics. Then some research. Then this site, and article that really got my attention. Check it out and see what you think :

Didn't read the article.. but I've wondered about the legitimacy of these products for years. Aside from the shits, low blood pressure, nausea and headaches, I've benefited little from any of the drink products I've tried.
The only one I actually get a good workout from is NO Shotgun. I don't know if I'm getting any 'NO' benefits, but the pumps are comparable to regular creatine effects. No vasularity improvements or anything else 'NO' related.
I think it is, and always has been, marketing hype.

i have found that i didnt benefit a whole bunch from those products that are mixed...i always thought it was like an oxymoron....no product (vasodilator) and caffeine product (vasoconstrictor)....I tried n-o pills with just arginine akg...like the nitrix product in liquid cap form by vitrex i believe it was and a couple other n-o pills by bsn and they didnt do much for me until i got leaner, then the veins would pop big time from taking them and full pumps etc...
have to be lean to see the visual results....I dont know about the rest of the mixed products...seemed like poop to me...

I am the first one to call BS when someone is selling something. However, i have spent hours reading about NO products, testing them etc. I call BS on the whole NO market. I like what he has to say because there are plenty of real scientific studies to back it up. Its very true to say the testosterone will produce awesome pumps. We should know that here.
Im thinking that there is no real replacement for proper PreWO and PWO nutrition. The caffeine and other stimulants are vasoCONSTRICTORS. This is opposite what NO products are supposed to do, yet they are full of them. How can that simple truth escape so many? I dunno. Also, science has also debunked that arganine raises NO levels in the blood.
Keep in mind : supplement industry is unregulated, FULL of lies and cheats, driven by advertising and misleading pseudo-scientific jargon. That is why I believe that NO products may be bunk.

Viagra produces awesome pumps...that's why it's a drug and not a supplement.
At the end of the day will a Nitric Oxide stimulating (because it's arganine not actually Nitric Oxide in the bottle) product help you to build more muscle? Maybe, but the amount of meat you could buy instead would help a lot more. I wouldn't use it unless I got it for free.

I've tried a bunch and personally not had any noticeable improvement in strength, recovery or endurance hence I no longer waste my cash on these products.
Also the only people I see buying/taking this shit are all > 200lbs I think thats the biggest give-away, I dont know a single guy who I would consider big who takes these types of products.

I know you are somewhat joking, but viagra is actually a performance enhancer in sports.
Imo on NO supplements, if you want to take it to enjoy the pumps, and spend the money on it, then go for it. But if you are taking it to get other benefits you are wasting your time.

performance enhancer at very hi altitudes and only the oxygenating effects, not volumizing or vascularity type of enhancements...:)
Yes, but performance enhancement nonetheless.

I like the Super Pump 250 for the "cleansing" effect it has...not a joke. I don't know but the rest of you but I find that the high protein diets cause constipation so I can count on the Super Pump to keep things moving.

I read the article. I agree to a certain point. I get alittle put off when he talks about this `GPCL`
What is the deal with that stuff...

It's a performance enhancer, period. I'm not saying go take it for bodybuilding. I'm saying it's a performance enhancer, which you agreed.

i liked Insane MG, it worked out pretty good for me, i upped the dose to 3 pills preworkout tho.
In my opinion its good to switch up your preworkout drink now and then so your body doesnt build a tolerance

I've done this and don't reccommend unless you're in very good cardiovascular shape.... Drugs are not the alternative for hard work... :puff

As far as i can tell, arganine does not increase NO, it is a precursor, but the body has enough of that on hand, there are other things that need to take place that create NO, and simply dosing arganine does not do it. This statement is backed by solid double blind scientific research. And no, im not digging up the pubmeds for any skeptics ;)
~D~
why is arginine prescribed by some doctors as a treatment for those with cardio vascular issues then?

From what im reading, when there is some kind of disease involved, there may be a need to supplement arganine in order to correct it. In an otherwise healthy person, you should be functioning properly with enough stores. But im not done looking around...

I've tried most of them... Sure, they do something but I rather buy the single components if I wanted to do it again.
Way too expensive and overpriced. All this fancy shit is just an industry scam....
Creatine, Protein... and good food and hard work.. the basics do the best and don't make you poor
