Is this possible with bell? I don't use my home phone as I have an unlimited cell. Is it possible to get dsl without a phone number from bell? I read it is possible with some companies, terms like naked dsl, unbundled dsl, and dry loop came up.

Does anyone have this option or know anything about it.

Cable is just not my cup o' tea.

It is called a dryloop. It will cost about $8\month over your DSL charge. If Bell wont do it, theses guys will..... http://acanac.ca/

Yes Bell does it, cable is superior though.. why are you against cable?

I had it once. Slowed down terrible at peak hours. I was in a busy neighborhood.

Not really a problem anymore with the new docsis changes. Also because alot of cable companies are doing VOIP they split the nodes up into smaller 100-200 modem groups..

Most did this to prevent large area outages for phone service and because they need to power their cable systems in power outages now for phone to stay live... and this also means better speeds for you :)

bundle it with yours cell phone and save the extra charge. It's officially known as "pots free". You still get assigned a phone number but it's not active as a phone.
