I am under the belief that it is not anti-catabolic, just looking for everyone's opinion.

ive read somewhere its only anti catabolic in animals cause it works on different receptors. not sure on this tho but most of us use it with a cycle so it doesnt matter anyway

Thats similar to what I've read......... Thing is some people use it during pct thinking it is anti-catabolic when in reality it will actually cause muscle loss.

Many people used to think it was anti catabolic but there's never been any proof of that. the only studies that were done were on rats and at outrageous doses...

definitely not a good pct drug will actually burn up your muscle if your not eating enough , checked on another site , basically all it does is speed up your heart rate causing you to burn more calories, definitely will burn fat but not anti catabolic at all

Clenbuterol is a β2 adrenergic agonist with some similarities to ephedrine, but its effects are more potent and longer-lasting as a stimulant and thermogenic drug. It causes an increase in aerobic capacity, CNS stimulation, and an increase in blood pressure and oxygen transportation. It increases the rate at which fat and protein is used up in the body at the same time as slowing down the storage of glycogen. It is commonly used for smooth muscle relaxant properties. This means that it is a bronchodilator and tocolytic. It is usually used in dosages anywhere from 20-60 micrograms a day when prescribed. A dose of about 150 μg should never be exceeded in a day. It is also prescribed for treatment of horses, however, equestrian usage is usually the liquid form of clenbuterol.

if the above info is correct then the fact that it increases protein burning along with fat then it is catabolic, to me that would mean it would be best used during cycle for cutting not for pct.the debate goes on, but for me its catabolic until i see recent human studies that prove otherwise

this is from big cat sterioid profiles
Along with the reversing of the effects of insulin (and inhibiting the action of insulin) which results in a release of glycogen back into the blood stream as glucose and an inability to store or use more glycogen, it will increase the rate of protein and fat being burned in the body. For bodybuilders that appears to be the primary use of the drug. This thermogenisis and an increase in the rate of fat being burned usually has as a result that the metabolic rate of the subject its much higher and he burns more calories. This in turn results in loss of adipose tissue (the shedding of fat in other words) revealing a leaner physique with cuts and striations. The downside to this effect is that there is a concomitant rise in the rate of protein being burned. Where fat is robbed from the fatty tissue in the body, protein is generally robbed from the muscle. As with all catabolic hormones, in time muscle loss can and will occur. Which is why many opt to use this compound during a cycle of anabolic steroids that will help preserve the lean body mass while reducing the fat.

no problem snive:D It dont matter cuz every body as their opinion why would my book be better then Big cat profil? Why would Big cat profil is more right then my book? Maybe Big cat knows more then German Das mittel der zukunft the writter of the book call Clenbuterol!! who know! if some body as proof with original texte and the reference that says its not what i say it is! could they post it up so we could find out more about this??

Sorry Freeze but the book you are taking about is called Clenbuterol: Das mittel der zukunft translated it means: "Clenbuterol: The Means of The Future." and it was written by Manfred Bachmann.
It`s weird but this subject was brought up on another board I belong to some time ago...IIRC the book was published in the early 90's and with it's publishing came alot of controversy. Most people "in the know" today disregard Bachmann and his "theories"...Information is always changing and what we believe now will probably be different in 15-20 years....Today I learned I don`t have to taper off of Clen. I had been doing this (taper) for years because it was the widely excepted way when i first started...I will continue to hunt down a text on Clen, I know I must have one somewhere:)

Everyone knows clen is a beta-2 agonist/antagonist bronchodialator which means is stimulates our system (beta-2). Most other information/documentation is from veterinary studies and bro-telligence of which the latter i think is most responsible for the anti-catabolic theory. I don't like to use on cycle because studies say ( Journal of Animal Physiology & Animal Nutrition - Berlin, 2004) clen can cause down regulation in testicular androgen and also pulminary, cardiac & CNS beta andregernic receptors "possiby" making steroids less effectice. All this being said and reading this thread what is catabolic? If it uses up more protein is it using it all? If you're living on a 100 grams of protein a day then yes your going to be catabolic. I think there has to be a balance and I also think that years of bodybuilding use and all of a sudden this great revelation that clenbuterol can be catabolic is going to stop use, PCT or not. I think it's a matter of sacrificing a small amount of muscle for a large amount of fat.

agreed it always comes down to using a drug for what purpose you want, to what degree its catabolic or if at all prob eat more protein , youll be fine.bottom line pct you want to bring the boys back to life thats the most important part, if clen makes your post cycle training better, improves your condition then go for it. i dont think its going to eat you alive , maybe over a long period of time it might eat up muscle but not if you use according to most accepted protocolls, good info put up here tho noting wrong with a good debate

Freeze,
1. Look up the possible types of Beta receptors and thier actions.
2. Look at the densities of these different receptors in humans versus "lower mammals" .
Therein lies your explanation of why Clen has NO anabolic properties in HUMANS.

guess you just gotta realize clen is afat burner nothing else and with all the protein we take dont worry about catabolism unless your on restricted cal diet
