yesterday im halfway through my little ritual and the phone rings, so i leave it on speaker and start talking...i take my warm little vial of TNE and stick the 22 in, draw, replace the cap, then realize i never sanitized the top of the vial before sticking the needle...

didnt want to waste a full cc of it so i changed pins like usual and stuck it in me... too bad i was freaking out and didnt take my time with the inj. so now my asscheek is sore as hell....

anyways, im gonna wait a few days hopefully nothing comes of it, i talked to my biopharm research friend and he said the chance of some super bad bacterium getting into me are miniscule... but i have no qualms about telling half truths to ER doctors....

so my question, should i bake my gear before inj. again, since bacteria could poteltially be in the vial, or open another vial, use it for the time being, and if nothing comes out of this shot then use the 1st vial again.

thanks!

^^^ ya.... 1st cycle I didnt do it at all (sterilized everything else... just not the top ogf the vial)... i think as long as you keep it in a clean area ur fine, and since u probably sterilized it last time too.... chill, and just do it next time

It is something I should do but often don't. I use a different pin to draw than to inject.

Same as what the others have said; I wipe it down before and after every shot and I'm sure if i forgot one time it would still be clean enough from the last time. It's not like you're storing it on your kitchen counter.

I forget all the time.

Same here, I wouldn't stress too much. Just don't get in the habbit of forgetting it every time. But every so often should be no big deal.

In all reality from what I understand to totally sterilize area you must have the wipe on the area for at least 15 seconds to kill all bacteria. A quick wipe is better than no wipe. Just another snippet of info I read somewhere that added to my infection paranoia.

I have a friend that wouldn't take off the Flip Off Lid he would pierce through it with the needle and he wouldn't switch the needle either and he never got an infection. he would forget to even clean the injection spot with an alcohol swab. you'd be surprise what you can get away with and not get an infection.

I never forget, in fact, you'd be hard pressed to find someone more cautious with regard to the injection process.

I once forgot to wipe the top of my vial with an alcohol wipe and lost both my legs and went blind. You are doomed. Write your will and kiss your wife.

I know guys who have never bothered with that step and they havent had any issues I doubt missing the step once will cause anything more serious to death lol.

replace 15 seconds with 15 minutes and youre right
you do not sterilize the top, you merely wipe away dirt, thats it
i have my vials lying around wherever and just pick them up and use them, but im weird that way
