Just heard about this tonight at MMA, haven't looked into it yet, from what i hear its a high fat, high protein, low carb diet. Except theres a lot of sat fat??? Is this true care ??to explain it a bit? I follow a high fat/protein diet but dont eat to much for red meat and the fats are mostly unsaturated.

Sounds like a solid high fat diet.. it is hard to get over the fat makes you fat myth though for some. But its acctually the combonation of fat and carbs together that spoke insulin and start to store fat.

A friend of mine did with good results, but the heavy protein left his digestive track a little off.
Worked for DiPasquale back in the 70s and 80s and the logic behind it is very simple; eat protein and fats to make muscles more insulin sensitive.

I've done it. Had some decent results but it's very hard to stick to the diet if you ever need to eat out. Also expect your grocery bill to increase by quite a bit as you double your meat intake.
Overall, I did lose some bodyfat but I didn't really feel healthy. I think the human body is meant to eat a wide variety of foods.
ps: If you do it, you'll feel like shit and very tired for the first 4 weeks as your body makes the switch from using carbs to fat as its main source of energy.

My friend had amazingly brutal results. But he was on the juice. His food bill was ridiculous though because he used to eat a shit load of food and used Angus beef. A few tbones , flax seed, rib steaks, ribs etc. BUt he was on the juice so it's hard to gauge what did what. He swears by it and did put on an unusual (even for being on) amount of muscle. I could not believe how much.
I was wondering if anyone tried it "off". I guess it does work but I am skipping it. I talked to him today and he said if you train in high activity sports (I'm going back to boxing and BJJ) you won't be able to function. Damn, I wanted to try it.

i train MMA 5 days a week and follow an even more restricted diet called the paleo diet.. it cuts out grains and dairy all together.. again high fat high protein... you just have to make sure u get your post workout high glycemic carbs for a speedy recovery. diets can be adjusted to suit each person and most diets arnt written for athletes there written to lose weight for the regular guy. I find that if i leave out my post workout carbs i get burnt out after about a week and a half.

Yeah but you can eat fruits + veggies onthat right? On Anabolic you take 30 grams max of carbs. I would die training Boxing on that.

Yeah unlimited veggies and fruit.. but i definetly watch my fruit intake.. if your doing a sport you would need to adjust the diet to fit your personal needs..
