Some of you know that the situation at my gym is deteriorating and just getting worse.

I even contacted a lawyer that told me that told me that if I decide to sue them the chances of winning are quite good but the rewards wouldn't pay her fee!

Time to move on, I'll keep my position there, make my little paycheck and start my own company.

My problem is: I don't have knowledge to write down stuff like waivers, ParQ etc.

Do you guys know where I can get it and any other suggestions about marketing myself???

Thanks

When you usually take a certification for PT, there is normally a fair amount of info dealing the legalities (waivers, health assessments, Par-Q, insurance, liabilities, ect). I know many times there have been lectures at some conferences (yes, even Can fit) where the 'business' side of the industry is the topic. There might even be books on the topic(s) you're looking for through humankinetics or some such organization? Maybe even contacting your official provincial sporting body to find out what info or resources they have. Most governing provincial bodies have info dealing with Par-Q and the like.

As for marketing, again, a cert course for PT will usually go into this (but not necessarily in depth). You could always try word of mouth, business cards, merchandising in various forms, or even contact someone you know who deals with marketing/advertising. It's expensive but you could also contacting a firm that deals in marketing too.

Don't know about your situation (not trying to pry either) but if you're looking into legal action because of something at work and it's a 'no go' simply because of money, there might be a couple of things to do. If you don't make enough, could you get help through legal aid? If you don't want to or can't sue, could you contact the labour board if there are legit complaints? They might have some info in dealing with things properly. Maybe even the BBB to file a complaint? Not that the BBB would be a big deal, but you never know. Hope something in this helps
