Did my first self-administered treatment . Read everything I could find, whated the YouTube videos and then sat down and went to work. Shaved a small squared on my quad, Took me 2 syringes to figure out the drawing part. Got it all prepared and jabbed it in. Did a pullback, took about 30sec to empty and then when I pulled it out it seem to be bleeding pretty good. More then I excepted. Now I'm questioning my aspirate. Did I pull enough? Did I miss not see the blood. I did it an hour or so ago and I seem to feel fine, if I did hit a vein what how I feel and when?

Besides the freaking out part it went well, no pain, no soreness. As long as I don't died I would call it a success.

No worries man, legs are quite vascular...If you pulled back the blood would appear in syringe instantly....You will know if you hit a vein, the room would spin, lungs get heavy and you may faint....
Good work, you had success it seems..soreness will come later or tomorrow if it does...like a charlie horse...

Like a charlie horse? I could barely walk for a week after my first shot!

If you inject in a vein, your body will expel the oil through your respiratory system. Never happened to me, but if you shoot in a vein, you'll know pretty quick; lots of coughing

I didn't feel anything either. Now I have this nice bald square on my leg for future reference. I found this vid to be on of the better ones I saw for finding the correct spot to hit....even thou it from 1978.

If you were in a vein you would know, wouldn't even have to pull back,
the syring would full up just as quick as it does when
they draw your blood at the lab for a blood test
no worries bro, your fine

no, that is not correct for the most part, you need to aspirate, BP isnt hi enough typically to push back a loaded syringe, it is conceivable i suppose and im sure its happened, but not the norm.....

it's already been said, but yeah... if you injected into a vein, you wouldn't be asking if you injected into a vein, you'd think it was the end of days. Then 15 minutes later you'd be good :)

The part about not feeling a thing...I will retract that now.

Ha! My shots usually hurt a day or two later. But man can I relate to the title of your thread. Every shot I do I wonder if I screwed up. I`m pretty sure I`m pinning in the right spot now (only done 3 shots standing), but ****, I moved that pin around so much trying to aspirate with one hand, my glute already feels stiff, lol Those left side glute shots are akward. All the best bro, lot`s of good vets here to guide you through your shots.

You can go through a blood vessel on the way in, aspirate and get nothing. But it bleeds a ton when you pull out. Freaked me out the first time I saw it!

^^yeah, that happened to me frequently... id aspirate and id be fine.. but soon as i pulled the needle out a big ol pool of blood would follow... i learned how to be quick with the alcohol wipe ready to put pressure on it.. didnt want any, ANY oil leaking out... and the first few times i didnt know any better sure enough a bit of oil would escape... that shit aint goin anywhere dammit! i paid good money for that. :D

Yeah the leaking oil is bad news. Pressure helps a bit. I only get that on delts though.
