Just found out that Kimbo Slice is going to be on the next season of TUF. I think this is hillarious. But who knows, he is a big dude and has been working with Bas Rutten. Also for the next season of heavyweights, you dont have to fight your way onto the show. Should be interesting. Plus who doesnt love watching heavyweights slug it out. I wonder how kimbo and rampage will get along...

This is gonna be a good season....all those other guys will be dying to be the one who puts Slice out of the show.
I hope the guy has learned something about the ground game, but sometimes sluggers just never get it.

LMAo, that was hilarious as i stared at your avatar
This will be the only season that I think I will watch. I like seeing the fights, but the last season I watched I had to suffer through half pint drama queens in order to get to the parts that I actually wanted to see.

Kimbo might be in grade school but he's not giving up,gotta give him credit for that.He knows he has to improve and he's not making any excuses.None that I've heard anyway.Great genetics in that upper body.

acctualy i think the reason Bas dumped him is because he didnt want to put in the time or effort, he just wanted to ride his litlle fame train.

Seems like a humble family man to me?Plenty of "Haters" is so typical!Anything I see on Mr.Slice is positive, lost weight, better cardio, great attitude, trains 8 hours a day.Given he will never beat Mir with a submission, wrestle with Lesnar, kick like Cro Cop,but still if all this was and is about"A Man's Got To Eat!" Kimbo is payin the bills!

If he has done all things and works so hard why has Bas dumped him and wont train him anymore?
He got ktfo by Petrazulli..... who the **** is that?? And the fight with Thompson should have been stopped so he lost against a couple of real superstars.
I wish the guy luck but I dont see him making it past anyone with any real skill.

Well that should happen rather quickly if he is not willing to work
My biggest criticism of Kimbo Slice (I levy much of my anger over his positioning on the scumbags at EliteXC) was that after he got KO’d by Seth Petruzelli, he wasn’t back in the gym the next day, the next week, or the next month. Once a wheel came off the gravy train express...
Interview with Bas....
Last week during HDNet’s “Inside MMA” Bas Rutten was commenting on a fight and said “you see, it’s all about getting hit in the wrong spot at the wrong time. I mean, look at Kimbo, bink…doof and shrugged his shoulders.” In no way did Bas Rutten say anything at all bad about Kimbo or lead anyone to think something was broken in that relationship. The comment did raise my eyebrows a bit though and at that moment I wondered to myself how the relationship was and what Kimbo Slice was up to during his time off. I guess the comment caught me off guard because when Bas Rutten was training Kimbo he was clearly on his side and defended Kimbo a lot. It wasn’t overboard but he didn’t have too much criticism for him and didn’t have much to say when he lost to Seth Petruzelli. Rutten was never over the top one way or the other but was clearly on his side. Maybe it was intuition or maybe the comment just caught me off guard because I hadn’t thought of Kimbo Slice in a long while. Whatever the reason was there was a story there.
In a recent fanhouse.com interviewBas Rutten discusses why he would never train Kimbo Slice again even if someone offered him $1 million. When asked if he would be in Kimbo’s corner during his next fight Bas Rutten said, “I stopped training Kimbo. I had him six weeks before the last fight (a loss to Seth Petruzelli on October 4), I talked to him about certain things that I didn’t like, and he promised never to do it again, and then he started doing it again. If people come to me and ask me to train them, I want them to do what I tell them to do, because that’s what they came for. … Once you start doing different things, you’re out. It’s not because he got knocked out. This was already in progress long before the fight.” Apparently, Kimbo had changed in the way he was training and maybe he lost focus a little. “Kimbo who came to me at the beginning of training, that wasn’t the Kimbo who was at my gym the last time. Six weeks before his last fight, I told him, I want that Kimbo back. Otherwise, you’re out. And you know, he started doing differently again. Let’s just leave it like that. I don’t want to go into all the details. I wish him nothing but the best. Really, I really do,” said Rutten.
Bas Rutten thought highly of Kimbo Slice at one time saying, “When Kimbo came in and did everything, he had huge potential. I said that in interviews. He was doing good, he did everything. He was doing good. He was doing really good. But he started to change. If he would have kept on training like he did in the beginning, yeah, I saw a really good future for him.” Rutten has not talked to Kimbo though since his loss to Seth Petruzelli. Some were saying Bas Rutten was in it for the money but in the interview Rutten disputed those comments. “I do with Mike, and I really like Mike, his manager. I’d like to have a manager like that when I was fighting. So I don’t want to — for me, once something is broke, I can’t go back. People say, “Bas Rutten only did this for the money.” I lost money. I lost money training Kimbo because I had to say no to commentating jobs. … I trained him together with another guy, because I didn’t have time to train him so much, so I gave him half and half. I trained the guy for several weeks for $5,000. That’s not big money. So I lost money doing that because I had to say no to commentating jobs. But it’s not about the money. People could say, “Hey, we’ll pay you a million dollars.” I’m not going to do it. Once I’ve made my decision, I’m very hard to change.”

And I really don't think it would be a money issue with Bas either. I emailed his web site a couple years back and asked what he would charge for an autographed pic.
After a couple emails back and forth with a lady on his staff I ended up getting one from him asking what exactly I was looking for and what I wanted it for. I told him I was looking for memorabilia to put in a bar room at my house and he asked what my mailing address was and a couple weeks later I have an autographed pic addressed to me on the picture with my name so I know its not just a random pic.
How many guys in his position would do this? Not many I would imagine.
A big puncher will always have a chance.

Bas got rid of kimbo because he did not want tot out forth the effort of MMA training Kimbo said he wanted to box because MMA training was so hard. The next season of the ultimate fighter is pretty obviously built around Kimbo hence dana getting rid of the fight to get in part they wouldn't want there biggest ratings draw being eliminated on the first show.

It does not say anything about him saying boxing was easier but he pretty much says he was lazy.

It’s On! Kimbo Slice vs. Houston Alexander catchweight bout set for TUF 10 Finale
Posted by Cory Brady on Saturday, October 31, 2009 at 7:12 pm· 8 Comments
It’s on like Donkey Kong as two of the sport’s most feared sluggers will collide in December.
Kimbo Slice will face off with Houston Alexander at The Ultimate Fighter 10 Finale from the Pearl at the Palms in Las Vegas on December 5 according to a recent report on The Times of Northwest Indiana citing sources close to Alexander.
Talk of this anticipated match-up between knockout specialists have been brewing for some time, as FiveOuncesofPain.com first reported on the possibility of the match-up back on October 13.
Apparently the bout has been set for a catchweight of 215 pounds according to the published report from nwi.com. The report goes on to state that the bout was originally targeted for 205 pounds before it became apparent that Kimbo would have been unable to successfully make the weight.
Slice will be making his official Octagon debut in the contest, with his last appearance in the cage being a second round TKO loss at the hands of Roy “Big Country” Nelson during Kimbo’s stint on the tenth season of The Ultimate Fighter. He currently holds a professional record of 3-1 with wins over the likes of Bo Cantrell, Tank Abbott and James Thompson before suffering his first defeat to Seth Petruzelli during EliteXC: Heat in October of 2008.
Alexander was recently allowed to fight outside of his contractual obligations to the UFC where he got back on track with a first round TKO over Sherman Pendergarst at Adrenaline IV in September. Prior to his most recent victory, the heavy handed Nebraskan had suffered losses in his three last trips to the Octagon.
Nice! That will be awesome.

i like houston alexander, but this fight is a joke. alexander is about the only guy in mma who couldn't take kimbo down.
for all the shit dana white talked, he's certainly throwing kimbo a bone here...
i realise kimbo hasn't been training mma as long as the other guys, but there is no way he works as hard as they are trying to make it out on TUF...3 years or so and zero take down defense? unless ufc keeps handing kimbo stand up guys, he's going to be 3-76 with 75 of the defeats coming from the crucifix haha. there is a reason bas stopped training kimbo:

i like the fact that kimbo is always looking for the knock out, but that's about it...at least the other side show freak trains like his life depends on it (lesnar)

which means dana white has no integrity...
discredit kimbo as an embarrassment to the sport, then totally whore promote him for money.
or how about "fedor is an overrated fat guy" followed by "i love fedor, and want him in the ufc"
not sure what dana's motives are with the kimbo vs alexander fight...but if it's about embarassment, feed him to cro cop...if he's trying to make kimbo look good, he's no smarter than the higher ups at elite xc!
