Well, I thought I would send out a quick review of my experience with Andre and Anytime Fitness.

First off I would like to apologize to Andre for interrupting his workout yesterday.

So I show up at the Pickering location yesterday in the afternoon and take a walk around; nice clean gym, new Precor equipment, all the machines are spaced out nicely, great high end cardio equipment facing the 401. Most of the cardio equipment (maybe all of it) have small monitors so you can watch Jerry Springer, Judge Judy or whatever gets you through your workout.
I see Andre working out, looking more muscular than in his transformation photos, and introduce myself.
We chat for a bit, no pressure sales what so ever, and I'm sold. We go to Andre's office, do up the paper work and it's a done deal.
Andre, thanks for the MVP samples!

I must warn you, if you go, that Andre pulled those dinners that he gets out of the fridge and showed them to me. You thought the pictures were good, you should smell that stuff.

I came back to the gym shortly after midnight for my first workout, 3 people in the gym. I didn't have to wait for equipment, however I would like to change the music, but I understand you have to cater to everyone, and that's why there are iPods.
All in all, a very good experience, a great gym, and great equipment.
I would recommend anyone who is interested in a new gym membership to check out Anytime Fitness.

Now I just have to cancel my membership at Premiere.

Thanks for the kind words!

If you come workout during the day when I am here I will put on the hard rock station for you :)

Do you only workout in the middle of the night?

Thanks Andre,

My workout routine all depends on how motivated I am.
When I work afternoons I usually sleep in till 10am. I could make it up to the gym before I work at 3pm, but I end up lounging around at home. When I finish work at 11pm I just head to the gym, to get the days frustrations out.

I will be going onto overnights in about a week, so you will see me there in the early evening.

As a long standing member in Andres gym I IMPLORE you to come check out his gym. I have been to most of the gym's in the Ajax/Pickering region and spent short periods in many others in Oshawa and Whitby, eventually turning my back on all of them. Why?

Because they ****ing sucked! None of them catered to actual lifters, all they gave a shit about was how much money you could feed them and how many personal training sessions they could sign you up for this hour.

I still remember the first time I met Andre, it was such a relief to meet a gym owner who actually worked out! Why? because I knew he had been where I had been and jumped through the same bullshit hoops that I have had too.

And you know what the real kicker is? He actually cares about your progress. Its sad that the concept of a Gym owner who is actually is empathetic towards your needs is as common as a unicorn, but its true! He wants to see you succeed.

Its bullshit that he is the Anti-thesis of the norm as opposed to the norm itself, but he exists and he would love for you to come by.

SO FREAKING DO IT ALREADY!

I apologize for my horrible grammar I know its a workout just reading my sentences

double edit: Andre is bigger then ever, its insane how much size he has put on in the past couple months. Soon he might almost be as big as I was at the tender age of 8...if he is lucky.

Nothing that I know of... check out http://anytimefitness.com/en-us/locate/list/ON for a full list of current locations... there is a club at Yonge and King that is about to open... it's west of North Markham...

The site says "opening soon...16th and McCowan" It has been saying that for almost a year....on the site when they say "opening soon" does that mean they sold the franchise and they are actually opening soon? or is it still up for grabs but they say that cause its an area they want to put one in?

I might be coming back home in September. Looking forward to checking out your place.

Would you be willing to give me a one or two week pass or something like that instead of paying drop in fees every time I come in ?

I'll only be in town for maybe 10 days so I'm looking at 5 workouts.

I joined anytime fitness back last fall and love the swipe card access. As i hit the gym in the mornings around 5:30 am it works great not having to rely on someone opening up the place. Andre has put together three great facilities, i go mostly to the pickering location. Not to mention he stocks the supplements so you can load up on those while at the gym.

I own the rights for Oshawa as well... I am negotiating for a spot in the East Mall on King Street...

I notice lots of Tdot area locations and not a whole lot east (Ottawa area). Wonder why?

I do know Ottawa has a ton of gyms. 17 or so GL's plus the school facilities (3 of those) which are pretty solid in addition to smaller clubs (about 7-9 of those) and the OAC which is geared towards BB/PL/OLY lifters as well as general population.

Too much competition perhaps?

It's funny, I just met with a guy who will be opening one up in Kanata this summer... expect to see more coming to Ottawa soon... eventually they will end up in Montreal/Quebec... it's the largest chain of coed gyms in the world with close to 1500 locations sold!

I really believe this is the gym of the future!

Kanata actually works well given there are fewer options fitness wise in that area and a great population base in Kanata, Stittsville and Carp. Further East and into the DT core it get gym heavy very quickly!

P.S. How'd you do on Sat????
