I'm 240 lbs right now, gained 30 odd lbs over a couple months from regular gym use.

I believe I have lost fat % and I know I have gained muscle mass.

I am 21 years old, 6'1. It does seem like my weight is at a stand still currently as im doing more cardio yet remaining the same weight training schedule.

I'm a little worried/concerned about my weight. I wouldn't say I am fat either.

Should I be worried about my weight?? I know its mostly muscle, but 240 lbs at 21 seems scary. Although seeing bodybuilder guys in the early 30s with very little fat % weighing 300 lbs, makes me more comfortable for some reason...yet some of my friends, same age, around the same height weigh 40 lbs less than me, but have the basic same physique... I don't get it!!! :(v:shock

i think you should only be concerned with body composition. The whole point of body building is to gain muscle, which will make you heavier. Body mass indexes, like at a doctors office, don't line up with people who body build, you'll always be heavy according to those. Also how you feel is important, if you feel fine at that weight then whatever.

Bone structure and skeletal frame also contribute to weight difference.

I figured as much...

I see some guys who are huge, lots of muscle..seeing them on the scales under 200; I get confused...

I know I have 20 lbs of fat on me still that needs to go, I never thought of bone structure and what not...

im pretty comfortable with my body, but just seeing the scale go up to 240 is odd, people look at me and think I must weigh at least 220, I tell them 240 and there shocked...its just weird :|

Its hard to guess how much people weigh, sometimes i see people in my weight class and am like, wow, that guys a monster, and others look relatively small, i think some peoples guts weigh more than others, lol, but seriously, i think its more about body composition as well.

Don't worry. I'm 6'3 and was around the 240 mark this past winter thanks to cake and a few other things. I was never fat however. Personally If I go above 12%bf I look like a bit tubby. If I go down to 220 I'll see abs.

I'm 5'8" and when I am at my heaviest 195lbs I look very big, but I have the bone structure of a 12 year old girl. I took a year off from bodybuilding after feeling burnt out from competing and am now slowly working my way to 180 and am finally feeling like I look like I work out again.

I'm 6'0, 185-190, but a lot refuse to believe when I tell them so. They think I'm at least 230. I guess I just have lots of muscle. Your bone structure plays a big part in how you look, I know lots of guys who weigh way more than me but you could swear they're 20 pounds lighter I am. They just have bigger bones and less muscle composition. If you have a beer belly, that doesn't help.
