Sometimes I feel run down. If getting more sleep doesn't help that much I'll drink some coffee during the day. I try to save the caffeine for when I'm drained.

What are you running??? Are you sleeping enough? Stable blood levels?
I personaly find that the more I run, the more my moods vary. A dose below 500 mg test makes me just feel awesome, more made me feel like the machine on some days and like a lazy bad of shit on others . Orals ususally make me feel less than great and stuff like nolva turns me for the worse...

I totally know what you mean I've been having a shitty week myself and my first thought was that it had something to do with gear. But I figure I have had crappy weeks way before I touched gear, I think its just a knee jerk reaction to think any weird little change is gear related especially if its your first cycle.

I find when I am on that I seem to push myself harder. So my body needs more time to recover. If I am not getting lots of sleep I feel like crap.

Agreed, Get alot of sleep, eat enough calories, drink a TON of water...

It could be alot of things. Gear or no gear, try and find a good balance. Being tired or run down all week is no fun...

sleep, recovery, and diet

check them

If you are trying to survive on whey.... you will not feel good. Make sure you are still having nutrition in you diet. Vitamins. Omega 3-6-9. Get some sun, whether it is real or fake (vit d is a feel good drug too). make sure you are still taking a couple days off a week, and doing somthing you enjoy, as well as relaxing. Dont drink alcohol. Dont be around negative people. And like the the boss said, drink a ton of water.

How much test are you running?
My first 2 cycles (test only) were like that, by week 8 or so, I started to feel really lethargic and run down. I have since learned that anything over 500mg/week of test will have that effect on me. I now never run more than 400mg/week of test and I no longer have that problem.
my last cycle was actually only 300mg/week of test and 300mg/week of deca
and I felt like a god for the full 16 weeks I ran it.

I am wondering if this is a side effect of raised estrogen levels.

I am pretty sure that is what it is. I know that an anti-estrogen would probably also work, but I personally like running low doses so that is how I have dealt with it.
I just don't want to have to take extra drugs to deal with sides, instead I lower the dose.
