Okay, So I need some help finding a good gym in my area and I thought I would recruite the help of anyone who might be able to help me. I'm not looking for the regular commercial gym but rather something more hardcore with serious lifters. I recently have switched up my training and would like to focus more on stength and powerlifting and am looking for a suitable gym. I'm in the Hamilton/Burlington (Ontario) area but am willing to drive a little to find a gym. Can anyone help me out? Thanks

I did google it but all that came up was the typical commercial gyms. I did however make a few good connections with some powerlifters in my area and they recommended Pheonix Fitness in Ancaster and the YMCA in St.Catherines. I'm going to go check them out.

That's the hope haha. I do really like Fitness Fanatix in Mississauga. The Gym really has an old school feel with metal weights and such. but i like having some different options too so I'll take all the suggestions I can get.

I live in ancaster and pheonix fitness blows ass. I used to lift at cedar springs in the ancaster community center and it was decent, but now I lift at McMaster and I do classes at goodlife.

Fintness Finatix in Mississauga is an excellent gym indeed. Very good prices and the owner is a great guy.

Members there are courteous for the most part and it has a great overall atmosphere compared to most local commercial gyms.
