I`d say morning for the following reasons: Say you`re cutting and want to eat carbs and get away with it. You can have a protein carb breakfast before training, reason the carbs will be used up. Then to replenish, post workout shake with protein and carbs then another protein and carb meal 2-3 hours later to keep the muscles full looking. The next 3 can be protein and fat. It`s about as painless as it gets when it comes to cutting and you get the best of both worlds. As far as feeling like shit in the morning, I feel ya on that one but with the following cocktail, you will be o.k. by the time you get to the gym and warm up.

With breakfast:300mg caffeine, 12 mg ephedrine, 3mg vinpocetine

Drinking 40 mins or so before workout and 1 hour after having eaten: 3-5 grams of l-tyrosine, 200-400mg DMAE, 500mg of rhodiola rosea. Works every time.

^^^ I`m not cutting now either. I rarely even take off my top, a few times a year to go swimming at our back yard pool. When I used to be a party boy, I was lean all the time, but surely the drugs had it`s implications but I was super strict with my food regardless. Now I wanna get big! Still train in the morning, this way I can take a nap before my second post workout meal... Been gaining weight recently and keep catching myslef snoring real loud when on my back.

I have trained at various times over the years.

Back when I as going to University, it was the 5AM rush hour workout, then school all day, then homework, and bed time --

Over the last 10 years however my responsibilities have changed, and I no longer own my own time :( I now train in the 6 or 7PM time frame of the day. I have no other choice.

I am able to train at any time of the day, and maximize my workouts.

I have also started snoring when I sleep on my back. It gives me a sore throat in the morning lol. I normally like sleeping on my side but sometimes I wake up with my one arm totally asleep. Can't imagine the problems you big guys must have. Kinda makes me want to lose 10-15lbs just to see if it makes a difference.

^^^My husband snores when he is bulking and on his back. Don't know how many times I have to poke him to turn over....

I train in the morning because I'm the strongest then and have tons of energy.

I voted afternoon but I work out in the evening also. I find that if I work out first thing in the day I am lethargic and week kneed for the rest of the day. I also find that if I work out in the evening I end up staying up really late cause I cant get to sleep right away. But I think I am going to start going for a run @ 5:00am, its so nice out at that hour. I am all over the map.

no choice for me. I work 7:30am to 5pm, so naturally a 5:30pm workout is ideal. Gives me time to go through my Humalog and take in my nutrition before bed.

I'm a irritatingly energentic morning person so mornings for me. It also gives me my evenings for family or my hockey or lacrosse games.

Actally each time you train at has it`s specific advantage. In the morning, you can say it`s completed, out of the way and the meals you will eat will go into recovery. But many say they`re not as strong in the morning. At night you`re stronger but has less time to cram in meals for recovery. And many have a hard time falling asleep after intense workouts. If I were a pro, I`d have breakfast, relax until my next meal have a pre workout meal, train, then have my post workout shake, go home sleep a little, get the second post workout meal, then carry on with my day, which would consist of eating, and doing stuff like stretching and getting deep tisse work...

We pretty much have the same working schedule bro...but I would never hit the gym right after work, it is too much for me...I need my down time, I need food, I need a 20 min power nap----this is why 7PM is optimum for me.

Also because of my working schedule/business, I only really own 4 days of the week...the other 3 days---well let's just say that I belong to the business, and I can't really predict my training time..I can predict a workout, but I can't set a specific time.

BTW--I poke in the mornings right after a nice shower:)

Always been a morning person so training in the AM came naturally, i feel absolutely amped. If i dont train in the morning, i just feel odd during the rest of the day. In the gym by 6 30. I absolutely love it, the only pp that train at that time are the regulars so theres a certain comfort level there. Plus its relatively empty, dont have to wait for machines, racks or fight over DBs.

I used to work out about an hour or two after waking up which was perfect. Enough time for my coffee ( etc) to kick in and my body to absorb enough food.
Since about a month, I have to train in the evening which I hate since I am tired, don't want to load up on stimulants ( since I have to sleep at some point) , the gym is busy like hell and I simply feel like not being there.
Kinda sucks, of course I push myself through it and once I start its all good, but I loved my morning work outs..
